I took my truck into a small-town dealership to have some warranty work performed. It was towards the end of the Service Dept.'s work day, and employees were starting to slowly leave work. It was during this time that I got into a conversation with the Service Advisor and the Tech who was going to be working on my truck, but the conversation was quite general - not specific to my truck. It was here that I learned that the Techs have very little knowledge of FORScan, even less as to how to use it, and further still, weren't allowed to use it, make changes, etc. I was shocked! I also admit my ignorance as to what is/isn't permitted within the perimeters of Ford within a dealership Service Dept. Is this pretty typical, or more just likely the case of being a small-town dealership? If my experience is more representative of most dealerships, then the value of this forum just took another huge leap upward....

Forscan is not an official Ford program, so I imagine Ford would not condone its use.

FORScan was originally reverse-engineered (stolen) from Ford software, it's definitely not condoned by Ford Corporate, so there's no reason for Ford Techs to be up to speed with FORScan and should not be surprising that they aren't.
