I’m glad it hasn’t happened again for you. I’m going to call tomorrow morning to see if they want me to bring it in immediately too. I hope this issue doesn’t happen again for us. Did they tell you what caused it?
My O/2 sensor went out, they told me I had appointment for 10:30 took it in and they never even looked at till the next day..
They cleared the error and sent me on my way and now I'm waiting on the part to come in.
Not very impressed with Ford Service Dept.

After two days of not driving the truck I had this message again pop up in FordPass this morning.
Fortunately this time, my battery had enough juice to unlock the doors and start the engine. My guess is that another day or two of “deep sleep” mode would have rendered my battery useless. For a second time in a month.

I used to travel a lot for my job.
The truck would sit at airport parking for up to two months.
Pretty sure I would be pretty aggravated if my new truck would not start after sitting.
Hell, both of the hot rods sit for months at a time, and they will fire right up.

At this point I would have zero confidence to leave my truck at the airport (or anywhere else for that matter) for 3+ days.

@KBKEITH , are you still on your original battery? So far my replacement battery is behaving well.

Yes sir, still my original battery. I think I am going to give this battery one last chance. I’ll put it on the charger and see how long I can go before this happens again. Happens for a third time it’ll be back to the dealer.

In the meantime I have my NOCO Boost XL at the ready. Thought for sure I’d need it this morning.....

I will take another measurement at lunch. I'm snowed in this week so will see if the truck with a new battery can hold a charge on its own.

This happened to me yesterday. Started it in the morning to remove snow from vehicle and driveway, 12 hours later it was completely dead like the battery wasnt even hooked up. Truck has 400 miles on it.

I haven't driven my truck since Sunday because of the snowstorm so "Jeb" has been sitting about 1.5 days in a 40 degree garage.
As of this morning, replacement battery is down to 12.18V and 50% SOC.

That’s not good. If you take it in to the dealership please let us know the reason why this is happening.

I find it weird that only a few trucks are having this issue and not all of them

After sitting 2.5 days: 12V, 28% SOC. Truck still starts!

Tell me, does your auto/start stop work? My guess is that it doesn’t. Perhaps a blessing in disguise? :p

So, is this thing only holding a charge on the surface?

Had a battery in a Crown Victoria a few years ago that always started the car, unless you left a car door open for 15 minutes.
Showed 12v but dropped rapidly with a door open.

Now I take batteries out and get them load tested every couple of years
When one shows it is reaching “end of life” it is replaced, so I get no empty parking lot surprises later.

Looking for a common thread to a source of drain. Have other folks with dead batteries: 1)Connected to FordPass? 2)Connect their trucks wifi to your home network?
I have connected to Ford Pass but have not hooked it up to my home wi-fi. Mine sits in a garage during the week and I bring it out on the weekend. It sort of applies as previously stated. If I drove to the airport for a 5
Day business trip and returned to find a dead battery, there is nothing acceptable about that. Mine is at the dealer now and they are still looking at it and clearing the codes.
