6 Day old truck is dead in my garage. Very upset and dealership is going to get an earful this morning. Has a "parking brake error, service now" and 9Volts, 20mca in the battery.

Not off to a good start with ford.
You will catch more flies with honey . . .
Remember, your dealership didn't drain your battery. We are all early adopters. As long as the dealership supports the issue, there shouldn't be a problem. Call the roadside assistance number that came with the truck. Its free.
If it happens 2 or 3 times, then you should talk to the dealership.
My 2015 F150 suffered from the drivers door freezing issue. After the 3rd time of me being late for work and them not fixing the issue, they let me out of my lease.

Exactly what happened to me except I had my truck for about 3 weeks when my battery was dead. I’ve posted my story a few times on this site.

It’ll be interesting to see what your dealer does.

Batteries issues on this forum definitely made my decision to purchase a battery & charging system tester. In my younger years at a dealership with a friend of mind - part of the
deprocessing would be putting the batteries on a tester & running a charging system test prior to customer handoff or placing on lot. I wonder what is being done nowadays.

That was the same exact thing that happened to me. After jump starting the error codes went away. They replaced the battery and haven’t had any issues yet. I will let you guys know if it happens again.

Mine is a pre-production truck so it was sitting in a lot in detroit for 3 months. Why did it decide to die once it got delivered?

Ok, 2 hours at the dealer, passed the parasitic draw tests (all modules went to sleep) and deep charged the battery. They think since it was sitting pre-production for 2-3 months, the battery drew down and the state of charge wasn't check before final delivery.

I'm an electrical engineer and I'm not buying it. I'll be testing the battery daily to monitor the state of charge.

I agree.

I know mine hasn’t gone dead again since my issue on 1/4, but now I’m driving it every day.

I do know that my auto start/stop is not functioning right now and that is due to the vehicle charging. It has been pretty cold here recently so that doesn’t help.

The auto start/stop on my 2018 almost never works in the winter months. It only gets driven 2 or 3 days a week but it works all the time during the summer months.

That was precisely the same problem on my former ‘18. Never worked in the winter and always had the message “vehicle is charging.”

Day 7 of ownership. Checked the battery this morning and it was down to 50% from 100% the night before. Dealer dealt with an irritated customer this morning and battery was replaced. I will continue to test the battery daily to see if the new battery resolves the problem. I'd recommend anybody who got one of the pre-production trucks to get a battery tester. I’m glad to hear that your dealer did that for you. I’ll be interested to see if that solves your problem.
