Dangerous B&O sound system issue

Had this issue too. Happened when I was in reverse and the screen even froze and the image stayed frozen on screen, until I shut off the truck.

Same I was reversing and phone was connecting and boom static. Backup screen froze the image too

There is a software update now that is supposed to fix this, but for some reason, it is not showing up as an available update for every truck. With your VIN, I can check if the update is there for your dealer to do, but it would have to be much later when I get home since I do not have FDRS on my work computer.

Unlike the Ford account, I can actually provide you with useful info.

I just got this today on my truck. Never had it before. It's a 2021. I just activated the SiriusXm free 3 month trial. The last the truck was turned off was on a SiriusXM channel. I bet there's something related with Sirius and this issue.

There are several 2023s that have defect reports filed online with NHTSA for this problem.

Not at all. It happens to trucks wit the B&O systems.

Yep, that's what many folks have experienced.
I posted the quick fix to turning it off, but can't recall what it was, I think if you change, SOURCE to something else it will turn off. Power button, and even turning off truck doesn't help.
I'll look back and update when I find it.

Edit: Yes changing the SOURCE is the way to turn off the clicking. See the video I made awhile back to turn off the clicking when it happens.

Yes, that's the same issue. The first thing that happens is the loud popping noise, followed by the static even if the truck is off. Supposedly, if you turn on the truck and change media sources, it makes the static go away.

Specifically to "analog" media sources. AM radio specifically has been known to help. @22MYPowerboostXLT

Makes sense, since the issue is caused by the DSP.
