I spent a bit of time today trying to figure out why the XLT with 302a and Co-Pilot 360 2.0 and a front facing camera in above the rear view mirror is not ready or capable of being upgraded to 360 Assist.

I Have not found any information about what is compatible and what is not between each level of copilot 360 parts.

Do 360 active and 360 assist need the 360 cameras in the mirrors to function?
holy thread revival - but the missing hardware isn’t the camera, copilot assist 2.0 trucks are technically capable of doing blue cruise HOWEVER they can’t because they don’t have the sensors inside the cab to watch your eyes for attention. Therefore they can’t be upgraded to be hands free as it would break federal regulations

What is needed to have adaptive cruise and traffic start/stop?
What is needed to have Active Drive Assist (Prep-kit) or Active Park Assist 2.0?

Not sure if you're asking about specific hardware of build configurations. If you mean what hardware is needed, I can't help much.

But if you're just wondering about configuration, Assist is an optional upgrade on some trims and included on Tremor/LARIAT high and higher trims.

Active is only standard on Limited and Platinum High; optional on LARIAT high and higher trims.

Both require 360 camera or tow technology package (which includes the 360 camera).

Park assist is like Active package, and is included with Co-Pilot Active.

Here's the Co-Pilot Assist:

Now so there is no confusion……this is a 502a lariat build.
But it’s relevant only in the aspect that 502a includes the Co-pilot360 Assist 2.0. I do not have the tow tech package or the 360 camera package. Dealer(sales manager) told me that the truck will work as intended and all functions of the Assist 2.0 will work. So I believe that the requirement of the cameras are not true. At least for the 502a. If that is incorrect info it would not of allowed a scheduled clean order, it would have been put on hold for incorrect configuration. As for other 500a or 501a Lariats……I can NOT speak for that as I did not order one or inquire about it. As I know my minimum was a 502a.

502A includes the assist which requires the 360 camera, so I imagine it includes the 360 camera. It's just not listed on the window sticker.

That would be awesome! Like seriously. But after the sales manager checked with Ford……and then told me…..the Assist 2.0 does not use the 360 camera. It uses the one small camera in the windshield and radar in the front bumper. So I suspect that it’s a misprint. The cameras are needed for the active park assist in the Active prep package. Not the Assist 2.0. I’m hoping I have been Misinformed. Or even flat ass wrong as I would love to have the cameras. But dealer said it will not be arriving with it. Anyway.……just my 2 cents that isn’t worth a penny.

I think you're right about the misprint. If you configure an F-150 with 502A, you can still add the 360 camera. And if you add the Co-Pilot Active, it adds the camera, too. Bummer.

Also would be easy enough for anyone here with the different Lariat packages to weigh in. Anyone with a 502a Lariat that did not order the camera or tow tech package here confirm any of this?

Well, to add to the confusion, if you select 501A and add the Co-Pilot Assist, it forces you to add the 360 camera. It's definitely ate up. Hope it works out and you have the camera when you take delivery.

Yeah was aware that “lower” packages force the add on. Even in XLT trims. Just not 502a Lariats. XLT trim even gives you the front sensors. Which also aren’t not included in the 502a.

EDIT If you want confusion try this. I added the 360 CoPilot Active 2.0 Prep to my 502a and was told at time of order (Nov) that not only forces the 360 camera package (which is fine because you need the cameras for it) but also the Tow Tech Pkg that I didn't even want. It was never shown that way in the B&P and last I checked (months ago) it still didn't show forcing the tow tech pkg. Why would you need the tow tech pkg if you don't have either of the Trailer Tow pkgs? The tow tech pkg was an additional $880 msrp and don't understand why that is forced. You're already paying $995 (now $1,595) for the Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0

I ordered a 502a. The 360 cameras were a specific add-on, with an additional charge, and showed as an item on the green sticker. The co-pilot active was a separate add-on, also listed on the green sticker.

These packages are horribly named, I think; very confusing. And none of the salespeople I dealt with had any idea what was included with which package. Ford really needs to make all of this clearer as far as what you get with which package, since the dealerships don’t seem to be able to figure it out either. And let’s not mention the tow packages!

Agreed. The tow packages are a mess along with the Co-pilot stuff.

Don’t have my truck yet, but I test drove Lariat PB 502A that was equipped with copilot assist (not active) and was not equipped with 360 camera. I remember it specifically cause I was confused and assumed I was doing something wrong trying to find the 360 view. But nope, only a giant backup cam on the screen…

Edit: I should add - I tested the copilot features and they worked just fine

Ok. I can weigh in here, because the confusion is in fact in the naming scheme chosen by Ford.

The actual option for the Blue Cruise prep is listed as Co-Pilot Actv2.0 Prep, not the ones listed as Co-Pilot 2.0. The hands free system requires the cameras all around the truck, which is why the cameras are required if you get the prep package. When I was attempting to order and searching for a truck, I built multiple trucks on ford's site, and the Lariat High or greater was the only truck capable of adding the Blue Cruise prep package. So just because you have a lariat high, doesn't mean it comes in the package, because it is a separate add on when you select lariat high. With Platinum, I believe it is part of the package.
