Speaking strictly based on my personal experience owning a 2022 F150 PB, my advise is don't do it. If your 2018 is running the way you want then keep it, otherwise you can expect many months/years of frustrations with all the terrible and varied quality issues along with an unending list of recalls with these gen14s.

I have also have a 22 PowerBoost and yes have had to play whack-a-mole with Ford and their recalls. Despite this it's been a fantastic truck and I have not had any major mechanical issues with it at all. Only real problem outside the few recalls is a few water leaks but I'm cursed on those and these have been resolved. The pro power system has saved my butt on multiple occasions during extended power outages too. All in all I love the truck and would definitely buy another one if I had to.

My father in-law liked mine so much that he went and bought a '25 PB platinum and the only thing that he's had come up in the past 6 months was it going into deep sleep mode after a few days of not driving it. I updated the battery state of charge to 98% from the default 80% and it's been flawless since.

If you're ready for or need a new truck then go for it.

I had a MY21 F150 PowerBoost 302A that was a lease, and it was in the dealership for ~7 months total for quality issues popping up. I bought a MY24 F150 PowerBoost 502A from Granger Ford. I have had it in for a few warranty and quality items, but never in for more than a day for a fix. This Lariat I have is the perfect build for me personally.

Traded a perfectly running 2021 3.5 Eco that I purchased new for a 2024 Powerboost. Only issue I have had with the 2024 is a failed GSM. I'm happy with my decision. Do what makes sense for your particular situation and don't look back. Best of luck and please keep us posted.

Buy the extended warranty if it's in your budget, Led front lights are not cheap !
100% agreed. The extended warranty should be as standard as 4 wheels with PBs

I own a 2018 XLT with the 5.0 in it. Any advice?
I LOVE my 5.0 ordered directly from the factory aside from the BMS silliness and recalls - the elegant interior cabin, big screen and Apple play much difference from the 2018 model is just a different animal that helped me decide to move to it as I did not like the previous cabin. The motor suits me fine, Big V8 gets great mileage with the 10 speed!!

Very negative comment. My 22 Tremor has been virtually flawless. Other than the the slow response to upgrading to BlueCruise 1.4 now resolved.

I had a '21 PB, a '23 3.5 and now a '25 3.5 (all Lariats) - the quality of the '23 is better than the '21 and the '25 is really better than the '23. So I would go for it if that is what you want. For me, no way would I do a PB again - just too many problems and in the shop for long periods of time. If you get the black out and sport package you get the under bumper dual exhaust (like the Raptor) - they have decontented some of interior from the '21 and '23 ... but I feel the '25 is finally done with the "post covid" issues. Good luck.

I have a 2025 Lariat 5.0 501A BAP. Got in January & have 11,000 miles. No problems & really like it. Only one recall ( recent brake boost). Supposed to be OTA for it soon.

Very positive comment. Your '22 being virtually flawless while my '22 has been one regret after another really proves that quality on these vehicles is a blind toss up at best. Glad you're enjoying yours!
