Good luck.

My rear blocks are removed and I could never get the forscan recalibrate to work. It always faulted out for some reason. I have tried the dealer route too and they had no luck either. They even replaced a read shock that was out of factory calibration, and that did not fix it either. Still pursing though.

Not much info on them to determine the impact either though. Do they affect the CCD ride quality or anything else? Not sure.

If they make no impact to the ride quality either way, would I really care that they don’t work. Not sure. But if they functioned properly, and were reasonably accurate, would I really even use them then. As a 30+ year truck owner, they were never needed before. I do like my stuff to work properly though.

I’ll be watching to see if you have any luck and will reply if I do as well. ??

I tried this FORScan calibration. It didn't work. It did something, but not what these step by step instructions said. I was never asked about fuel level. I tried several times. It kept saying conditions aren't met. Only once did it seem to complete.

Anyhow, here's what ended up happening. I had lowered my rear with -1.5" shackles. Ride quality was unaffected IMO. My scales read overloaded because of the lowering. I tried the above calibration. In the end it didn't work. I did see once on the scale screen that weight was all green. Woohoo! I got excited. I tried looking again and now I only get a message to the affect that my scales aren't working. Go see the dealer. The scale screen no longer opens up. The hell with it. I never used the scales. They're a gimmick. I wished I hadn't bought the CCD suspension. I don't care about the scales. But! Did my ride quality possibly get screwed up? I can't tell a bit of difference in ride quality, so I don't think I screwed the pooch. Between having the scales or the truck lowered 1.5", I choose the lowering. The stance is very pleasing.

I wasn't optimistic that the FORScan calibration would work. I was hopeful though. It's a calibration for Raptors, not F150s. Still, I gave it a try.

I don’t have ccd but that sensor is the same for headlight leveling. I added them on mine to get the auto leveling headlights. You will have to adjust the length of the connecting rod from the bracket to the lever arm to get the lever arm back close to factory position. Or maybe move the mounting point of the connecting rod. There’s kind of a sweet spot somewhere in the middle where it needs to be on unloaded ride height. After you get it back to the middle redo the calibration.

I too wish I didn’t get a truck with CCD/Scales. I added RAS to my truck as I tow 10,000lbs up & down the east coast a few times a year, and I’m towing 5-6,000lbs almost every weekend, or 2 weekends a month the very least.

Anyways, I wish I could figure out a way to just disable the CCD system in forscan/FDRS, this way I could change the shocks completely and be done with it. I’m a little too OCD to see faults and what not when plugging into FDRS. I did unplug a rear shock and noticed it stiffened up the ride.. yep it was great, but short lived as I didn’t like seeing the fault code in FDRS.

I’d ultimately like to throw a ride tech system on the truck & some bags and continue to tow, but without definitely knowing we can turn off the CCD system, I’d rather not go they route. I’d feel better if I could turn it off first, then purchase + install the parts. I have talked to Jesse a couple times, he says it’s (probably) possible.. but I just would hate to take that leap if we can’t figure it out.

Looks like I might be stuck doing a leveling kit & 35’s?! I either lift of lower all my trucks, but factory right height isn’t for me.. and admittedly totally overlooked the CCD on my window sticker when I found this truck down in Virginia as a left over for 10k off sticker. Oh well, lesson learned for sure.

I totally agree with you. CCD was just something I spent money on and really got nothing in return. I don't think my '22 rides any better than my '13 did*. Oh well, all is good for now on my truck except for the bed scale not working. I never used it anyway. I don't know about the smart hitch. I don't tow either.

* It is tough to argue this point as I can't compare. I can only try to remember. My '22 might ride better, but I can not definitively say this is true.

I’d be willing to bet it does drive better, although it may not be the leaps and bounds you were hoping for. I do tow, a lot- and I never use the scales or smart hitch, lol. I guess for people who are new to towing it could be useful, I’m not sure. :)

It's not so much that CCD "rides better" in a single given circumstance, but rather that it can ADJUST to variations of different damping strategies.

Similar to the 10r80 transmission having multiple shifting strategies.

My complaint with Ford is simply their choice to limit MY choices in choosing the combinations that I prefer.

The truck comes equipped with the necessary features that I desire, but not the ability to blend them to my preference.

I want the EV strategy of "Normal Mode"
With the shift strategy of Tow-or-Sport Mode
And the damping/suspension strategy of Sport Mode

I LOVE this amazing 157" land yacht. It's such a pleasure to own and drive. But it's so irritating to be so close to perfect and be denied by nothing more than the lack of a software setting or switch.

But on the other hand, I’m sure you do also realize how many of these trucks are driven by people who…

A. Don’t even realize what we’re realizing, aren’t truck people (or even car people). They just drive them mindlessly and that’s it.

B. Many are company trucks, (not saying work trucks, but bought through companies and guys just pile miles on them, and use them as their mobil offices and replace them every few years..

C. Soccer moms ?lol, but rlly.

Then there is us.. we care! We want to play, we want to perfect the ride, etc.

I wish there was a way to report and publish the statistic of how many F150 owners who don’t even use the “mode” switch, let alone care about shifting strategy’s, suspension tuning, etc.

I’m with you though, I wish it was more personable like the Raptor is.. but I also see why it’s not. Most guys who care about all that- just buy a Raptor. I would own one if it could tow 14k lbs, but it can’t. lol. Also, I feel like a lot more people would like the Raptor if you could get it in a 6.5ft bed! (And expense is always a factor for some).

We all bitched a few years ago that the Raptor got the “AWD” transfer case, but I believe most of the other trims did not… and now look.. it’s available even in a 501a, or at least it was in 21-23.

Maybe if we keep complaining, someone at @ford will jot down some notes and have it corrected for 26’ or 27’. Wishful thinking, can’t have it all.

PS- @Ford, if you’re watching.. i’d like the unfitted switches to be an option on ALL trim levels? And i’d like a K Cup style coffee maker in the next model for truck please & thank you. ?
