I'm under original warranty. Whereas the TSB is a 2-4 hour job, there are other gremlins including mechanical that require more time. Thus the free rental.

In my case I referenced the TSB and they were very familiar with it as they have updated a lot of trucks for this. They told me upfront that it could take anywhere from 2 hrs to 2 days depending on how many modules needed to be updated, but to definitely get it in before my 3/36 is up as I would not want to pay their hourly rate for someone to sit there with a laptop pushing buttons every once in a while for hours.I have an ESP. As far as working with the dealer, do you push their attention to the TSB, or do they just want you to tell them the issues?
Whats sad about what you describe is, the tech isnt sitting there all that time just working on your truck! In my case I referenced the TSB and they were very familiar with it as they have updated a lot of trucks for this. Have you tried completely deleting the devices and setup and restarted the phone and the system in the truck, then re establish them again?Apple ios 18.4.1 update did not fix my issues
I've had the same thing at a specific spot that happened often enough it was obvious it was some sort of outside interference as the sound completely dropped out... that said it all happened in my '21 and doesn't seem to be an issue (ie I haven't noticed it) at all in my '24....Not lately. Thats really the only option I have left, but since my drops always happen at the exact same spots, and most of the time they are more of a sound cutout and carplay doesnt fully disconnect, I really dont think that it will solve anything. The fact wireless carplay works flawless in my wife's car in those exact same spots are really pointing my theory towards the outside signal interference for whatever signal Ford chose to use vs another manufacturer.
You performed the update twice for each vehicle, or twice, once for each vehicle?Oh yeah, “WOW” for sure…depending on how far “out of date” your truck is, it can take many HOURS to get through the list. It is like playing whack-a-mole too as one update leads to another leads to another and another. Some updates can take a couple of hours just to complete. I’ve done my ‘24 truck and ‘22 Ford Escape now twice with two x 2 day subscriptions to FDRS using my $575 Mongoose cable plus $120 12V 20 amp power supply. In all, I’ve probably spent 20+ hrs total updating them both. But if it wasn’t for several experts on this site I would have never got the courage to do it. So thanks to them!
TSB 25-2105 supersedes TSB 25-2048 to update the labor time description.I think 25-2048 has been superseded by 25-2105.
I sometimes get a no-audio situation but its maybe 1-2x a month. Overall I don't have huge complaints about this. Phone in airplane mode and reconnect always seems to work.
However, it appears that your truck may get a plethora of updates to it as part of fixing this issue? Am I reading this correctly? "Reprogram The GWM, APIM, TCU, IPC, BCM, CMR, SCCM, IPMA As Required By The Software Update And Service Procedure" They seem to give dealers up to 4.6 hours for this task.
I may actually address this just before the 3yr/36k warranty expires next year. If you get all these updates, plus the SYNC fix... might be worth it more for the general updates...
The dealer will only update modules that need updating. If they determine that all but the IPMA are up to date, then that is the only module that will get updatedReprogram The GWM, APIM, TCU, IPC, BCM, CMR, SCCM, IPMA As Required By The Software Update And Service Procedure" They seem to give dealers up to 4.6 hours for this task.
