CarPlay enabled weather radar app?

Is anybody aware of a CarPlay enabled weather radar app that can use the display? I often visit areas with highly variable weather and it would be great to use that big 12” screen instead if my phone, but so far it looks like nothing is able to do it. Even an app that could relay NOAA weather alerts to the screen instead of to the phone would be great.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestion, I see it does purport support CarPlay. I’ve downloaded it and will test tomorrow and report back.

I tested it out. It works pretty good. It gives weather forecasts for your route with timing, so you could tell for example it’s going to snow in Poughkeepsie as you pass through at 4PM. it does work on CarPlay and it will display the route and radar overlaid. It uses Apple Weather’s API for the temperatures, apparently.

Two caveats, you do appear to have to be navigating to get weather, and it only comes with five free navigations. It’s $24.99/yr, which is pretty reasonable and is similar to the other weather service I use for radar out of the car.

I do not think I’d use it to navigate instead of Apple or Google maps, but it would be useful for a “preflight briefing” of the weather along your route, and to check periodically at stops to keep tabs on fronts or active weather along your route.

My radar. I’ve used it a couple times usually the free version and it’s pretty accurate. They also have a feature that allows you to see while driving.

Yeah but you are gonna pay for it either way. I found this one to work really well, and you can program the phone to different settings that you want to show.

If your truck is less than 3 years old I think you still get SiriusXM weather in the truck. Just go to the nav side and on the left there should be a weather icon. I can’t remember what it is off of the top of my head but I use it to check the forecast and weather radar pretty often

I only use it for weather radar, I use waze for navigation

Carrot just added carplay as of today. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet but will be.
