Hello, I'm trying to get into engineering mode on my 24 so I can adjust my very inaccurate mpg readout. Been doing the procedure where you hold ok for 5 sec, turn key to run, and it should come up on screen. What I get is a brief flash of the engineering screen followed by the stupid seat belt status display. When I push ok for the seat belts, the engineering screen is gone.

I've tried to do this with my seat belt fastened, all belts fastened, me not even sitting in truck, etc, and it still won't work. When I did this in my previous 22 F350, it was so simple and took seconds, so I know the process, but is it just not possible on the 24's?

Thanks in advance...Just hoping it's something simple.

The seatbelt minder is obnoxious. You can’t even put the truck in the previous driving mode when it ask because the minder is in the way. I ended up disabling the minder in Forscan and may be your best bet.

Thanks, that's what I assumed I'd have to do is disable it so it never pops up in front of the engineering screen. I have Forscan and have already disabled all chimes, etc., and turned the belt minder off on one of the Forscan modules, but it still pops up. Guess it may be one of those things I have to disable in more than one module to make it go away. Guess I'll hook the laptop up again and see what I can find...

Been a few months, but I remember disabling anything related to seatbelts in a few modules. Now I have zero seatbelt reminders and don't even have the red seatbelt light. It's like seatbelts don't even exist in the truck!

To get into engineering mode before I fixed forscan, I just held the ok button and the seatbelt reminder popped up, but I just waited and left it alone and eventually the seatbelt reminder went away and the engineering screen came up.

@dacunn Dave, check that you've done this one (some need to, some don't but it never hurts to enable it:
Disable Ignition / Start Engine Chime Seatbelt Not Latched using SWM = ECEIPC720-01-02xxxx x0-- xxxx x2--
If not 0, add 2.

I used engineering Mode on my '22 the other day to set my MPG. it would not work for me unless I started the truck.

Just start the truck. That way you don't get any seat belt, battery, full power, etc...reminders.

I’m having this same issue. Engineering mode pops up for a second but then goes away because of the seatbelt screen. Have a Mac, so no forscan

Did you hold the "OK" button the whole time while waiting for the seatbelt reminder to go away? I sat there for maybe 20 seconds waiting but it never went away.

I hold the okay button for about 5-10 seconds, hit the start button and release the okay button. Wait for things to boot, click okay to get rid of the messages and the engineering screen is there.

Just tried this a couple times and it wouldn’t work for me. I’ll keep at it

I find the best way is to anticipate any messages by making sure hood is shut, all doors are shut, the previous shutdown was in normal drive Mode, seat belt on... basically anything that throws up a message. Once that's ok, I hold down OK and start the truck, not just accessories. Then engineering mode comes up right away.
