I wanted a daily driver that can haul big bulky items, you know washer/dryer, bedroom sets, 4x8 sheets. Never had a need to tow or haul anything extremely heavy. I will miss the manual 5 speed transmission.
Agreed. I have been driving manual transmissions vehicles since my first car in 1986, and had at least one ever since. Still daily drive manual Mustang and Camaro SS. Sadly, the manuals were removed from trucks a long time ago. I had an 03 F150 manual. I would love to have another manual truck, but only option is Tacoma (high end 4 door only). Way to pricey and woefully under powered. Considering getting a 24 F150 RCSB, but hate all of the nanny crap they come with. My Mustang has copilot junk that I would rather do without.

Turn it all off. That’s what I did. I prefer not to have any “driver assist” features either but at least it’s an option to disable them.

Thank you all for the responses. After reading them all, I have a question for the ones that have received their vehicle (let’s say after 6 months from date you got build confirmation). Did you receive any type of discount when you took possession of your truck, besides any already available to any other Ford truck buyer that went that day to their local dealership and bought a Ford?
I placed my order through Granger just after Christmas on December 29th...
At approx 2pm the same day, they acknowledged my $1,000 deposit via email....
At 2.06pm later that day, I got an email from Ford Motor Company confirming my order....
Approx 3 weeks later, on January 18th I got an email from Ford saying it had been scheduled for production...
Around February, I queried the status of a cash offer as to where it sat within the pricing as the timing meant I would probably miss out.... Granger told me exactly what was available but that the incentives are actually validated once the vehicle arrives (I got them when it did)
In mid march (14th) I received an email from Ford stating that my build was in progress (I'd actually seen that it was in progress as by that stage I was monitoring it and it actually changed over a few days earlier and before I'd received an email....
On March 22nd I received an email stating that it had been built...and then on the 28th of March that it had been shipped to Granger Ford...
On the 8th of April I received an email from Granger saying it had arrived and I flew in the following day to pick it up and drive it home...
Total time from order to pick up was just over 3 months and that included a short delay whilst they fixed something...

Would I do it again like this? Hell yeah... Granger made sure that any offers and incentives were taken off the bottom line that I had already agreed to... which meant that I paid approx $800 more for a Lariat V8 502A in 2024 than I did for my identical 2021 (but slightly lower spec) 501A V8 that now has some more luxury goodies that my old back appreciates....

I did the trade in exercise with my 2021 and the stealers were trying to charge me nearly $20k more (before incentives and also doing the above MSRP game) and I got so disheartened that I started looking at GMC and RAM's again.... The reality though is that I love my Ford truck as it is as... eg I like the lower hood in comparison to the GMC, the screen and interior etc was more practical and I was already happy with so many things that made me buy it in the first place...

The only thing turning me away were the numpties at the dealerships....

Once I approached Granger with my spec, checked all the comments on here as real and they gave me a price it was a no brainer...

As to the wait, I know that my truck closely resembled the standard spec (plus moonroof) for a Lariat and I think it meant that mine went through pretty much as it should....

Others with PAT or other options are being messed around by Ford's behemoth like method of sorting issues.... and I can't speak to people who Ford have let down badly...

What I WILL say though is that I do put part of my smooth sailing down to Granger Ford as my order was in the system and I was hearing from Ford straight away on the same day...

Cheers

Unless I missed something, I have not been able to find a way to completely disable the collision warning and auto cruise control. I found way to reduce the influence, but not completely disabled.
I really wish there was an option (or lack of) to not get those features at all. This is the primary reason for me struggling to consider buying a new F150. I like the looks and 5.0 v8, but all of the electronics that come with all those features are going to make keeping it long term not possible. It is not a matter of if they fail, but when. The main reason some older vehicles were so reliable is their lack of failure prone electronics and normal aspirated under stressed drive trains. I really want a new truck as my last vehicle before retirement, but just can't trust it will trouble free long term. I am watching intently on the forum to see what issues people are seeing.

No new truck excapes new tech. It's impossible to avoid issues down the road with electronics either. Your only option is to order a basic a truck as you can live with (no massaging seats sunroofs Blue Cruise etc.) and do modifications yourself like leather seats to avoid going to a higher trim.

Update: I followed through and canceled my order when I originally posted this thread and I went about trying to find the truck in the wild. Found one in Houston and placed the $500 deposit on it but it’s still a dealer ordered unit. I still kept searching and found one coming in to the dealership I had canceled the order with here locally. Yesterday I went by and placed the deposit and they stated it should arrive the first to second week of September. Today I’m going through my emails and I get confirmation from Ford with VIN of my original order I placed in January, Build date of October 7. Crazy.

I ordered my RCSB 4x4 on March 12. My local dealer required no money up front. The offered me a fair, but not quite as high as I wanted trade in value, and offered to honor it no matter when it comes in. He also said if the deals aren’t good enough, when it comes in, I can turn it down and order another if I want to.

I waited, patiently as possible, and it was built August 20, and awaiting shipping. I’m hoping for the best, there.

I’m getting Xplan pricing, and it looks like there is a cash allowance of $2000 as I write this. Here’s to hoping the deal sweetens before it arrives, although I’m buying it, almost certainly.

I already got new Michelins to put on my Fuel ‘Beast’ wheels, and Fox coil overs set to 2” to level it up bright away.

It’s been a little easier, waiting, as I have an awesome 2019 RCSB 4x4 2.7 3.73 to drive as I wait.

Great to hear that about your order. I had a 2017 RCSB Sport but had to trade it in for a crew cab STX to move the family around. Now that the girls have their own vehicles, it’s time to get back to my RCSB. I’m heading in the same direction as you 2-2.5 level, 35 inch tires with Fuel Rebel rims. Post a pic when it comes in.
