How long do you sit at your table after you ordered your dinner and just keep waiting?
There has to be a certain limit at what time you would get up and walk out of the restaurant...?
Granted food is not an automobile but you think 'You're either going to take care of my request or you're not. And if you're not I'm going to move on to a different dealership.'
It honestly sounds like it's time to call @Granger Ford ....

Davidwnuc it’s not the wait. I was willing to wait until it came in. I have 0% on my truck now so I was waiting to see if APR went down by the time my truck came in. But it’ll probably be by August or September before I get my 2024. Why not just get a 2025 and hopefully the kinks will be taken out. Hopefully my coworkers truck is one of those 1 in a million but I can wait for the truck I want.
no argument here. Whatever works best for. I just didnt want you to get overly frustrated with the waiting part of it.

If you wait for the 2025s you will be in the same boat you are in now. You will have to wait 8 plus months and then you will think, why not a 26. I have been waiting 188 days and I don't even have a build date.

My $0.02.

Sounds like the issue is more with the dealer than Ford. OP is frustrated with how long the build is taking (I would be, too) and instead of easing concerns the dealer is just throwing gas on the fire.

So maybe don't give up on Ford, maybe give up on the dealer?
Sorry all if I was too vague. The dealer where I ordered my truck is not the same one as the one with a 5K markup. My dealer is selling to me at MSRP. But with the wait I decided to look around and I found the dealer I stated in the original post. I had a 2017 RCSB Sport that I traded in because my teenage daughters would complain that it was too cramped when dad had to pick them up from school. So now that they have their own cars I wanted to go back to my SC. I’m about 15K away from paying off my 21 4 door so I’m thinking why should get a 24 in probably 3 or 4 months when I can get (order) a 25.

Matisse70 - very good point.

The problem is Ford's custom order process is totally f'ed up. Some of us have been waiting more than 6 months and are still not scheduled while others get scheduled a week after ordering and get their truck in less than 90 days. What is so frustrating is that Ford refuses to communicate. Having a BOT send you an email every 45 days saying the same thing ( "we are working hard to schedule your new Ford truck") is total BS. I, for one, would be much more patient if Ford would just tell me the truth "We have supply constraints and won't be able to schedule your build until September 3rd, but we assure you that the orders will be scheduled in the order that they were received." That at least would give me a date that I could plan on and at the same time not feel like I am unfairly getting screwed over. As it stands, those of us waiting for an unknown period of time to get scheduled get more angry and frustrated with every report of someone ordering, getting scheduled, and receiving their truck while we wait. For Heaven's sake, this is a company that builds 700,000+ of these trucks a year! WTF? It's not like we're talking about some bespoke Rolls Royce...

The dealer I was looking at a 24 RCSB here in ATL had 6, I think he said, most were white and ugly as crap with the new grill but the dealer didn't think they were hard to get. They had 2k off from the dealer and 2.5k in rebates from Ford. I had a 4k cash offer Ford sent me so I could have bought it pretty cheap- like 8.5k off sticker. I guess I should have bought it and resold it. There must be a big regional difference in supply and pricing. I also think the big volume dealers probably get preference when ordering.

I know someone that bought one of those white ones. It does kinda look sad with the steelies and black bumpers but he has plans for it.

I was looking at the silver one but just couldn't get excited. I really like my SC STX though- except for all the rattles I'm having to chase down in the interior. Pretty sad how bad the build quality is on stuff these days. If you get one, buy a roll of felt tape from Amazon, lol.
BTW, the dealer in Bremen usually has several optioned out RC that they use for their Lightning builds. Did you go to Tech?

Thank you all for the responses. After reading them all, I have a question for the ones that have received their vehicle (let’s say after 6 months from date you got build confirmation). Did you receive any type of discount when you took possession of your truck, besides any already available to any other Ford truck buyer that went that day to their local dealership and bought a Ford?
Again my thing is not the waiting part, it’s getting a vehicle that the year model will be 9-12 months old when I take possession. I know that if I take possession toward the end of the year, it would qualify for any incentives out there on 24’s. Again appreciate all your insight. Your responses allow’s me to look at my situation from another perspective.

I don't think the 2024 is worth all the trouble because Ford deleted most of the options, I'm about to cancel my order also, been looking a Silverado's, Chevy did not delete all the options from their RCSB.
I thought the Chevy/GMC RCSB was limited to just a 4 cyl turbo engine. No V8 would completely be a deal killer for me. I recently test drove the new Tacoma and its 4 cyl turbo was just as gutless as the V6 it replaced (I had a 2016 Tacoma). I am not happy with Ford for dropping the XLT and other options from the RCSB, but at least I can still get a V8. I have very little faith in longevity of a small turbo engine in a truck. It has to work much harder at higher RPM to do the same work as V8. I may just be paranoid or old but can't beat a V8.

I wanted a daily driver that can haul big bulky items, you know washer/dryer, bedroom sets, 4x8 sheets. Never had a need to tow or haul anything extremely heavy. I will miss the manual 5 speed transmission.
