I can't be the only one that thinks the cameras on these trucks suck.

Has anyone found an aftermarket camera that has better resolution, is something like that even made?

While I'm dreaming can I get one that has little heaters to clean the snow and ice off them? Especially the one on the tailgate that gets covered with snow and is useless unless you remember to wipe it off before you get in and back out of a parking space. (I know I guess I could go old school and turn my head)

My problem isint so much the snow but the winter grime off the road that hardens and needs to be physically wiped off

my tailgate is by far the dirtiest part of my truck

My 2015 was the same as this one. The design hasn't improved. Even in the summer after a car wash by the time I got home with the roads looking spotless it would have pulled up dirt and be stuck on the tailgate.

A washer even would have been good. But the resolution I think isn't great either.

Is it just the smaller screen 8 versus 12?

Learn something new every day....... Did not even know there was a sub category for these kinds of things. I'll bet there isn't a lot of traffic down here in the basement so to speak.

Coming from a 2013 F150 the rear view camera was under the Ford logo and got covered with snow instantly when driving, everytime.

With my 2022 the camera is so high up, mine never gets even snow dust on it.

The front is also usually clear of snow unless I'm on the interstate in an ice storm.

The bed camera looks like it's filming with a potato, but otherwise the front and rear specifically are great quality.

I must be unlucky, when I was driving around in the fresh snow the other morning when I got home the entire back of my truck was white. License plate was covered, tail lights, clear up to the top of the cap.

Maybe that hard cover I have on the bed creates more vacuum or the single cab in some way. Who knows.

As far as quality I feel I actually get a better view with the 360 cam at night. In the daytime I just don't get a clear, quality picture. I mean you can see stuff is there but the detail to tell what it is isn't there.

I wonder how can that be. I drove throught the crazy rain earlier this week, the lens was covered with water, it was practically useless when I backed up to my driveway. Happens with every rain, not just heavy/big storm, so I don't know how yours is not covered with snow.
No doubt the location/lens design is terrible.

The front has a small washer, whenever you wash the windowshield the front camera gets a splash as well.

In regards to resolution -I drove a rental 2023 Escape and I sweaer the camera's resolution was much better than the one in my truck. It could be because of the size difference though.

I find the cameras very clear even at night and with a little salt on them. I do wish the rear camera had the same washer nozzle as the front camera, something I use all the time. The addition of the f150Led spartan reverse lights may also be helping with that night time quality of the video. I find the cameras under the mirrors need cleaning very rarely.

I was not aware the front camera had a washer on it. Need to check that out! I had a 2019 Chevy Blazer with a washer on the rear camera. It was great to get the snow, ice, and general grime off the camera. However, I do miss that on the rear of the F-150.

I have no complaints about my cameras but again I am a little extra on the cleaning side....and I almost never drive my truck with any precip on the ground. I have done it...maybe once and that was by accident. :D

It's a pity too about that bed camera as that is a camera you can have fully displaying at speed. I have been hoping I can find some 3rd party option just to bring it to 2022 levels and not 2012 levels.

I would be all in on a replacement for that bed camera, I just don't get why it is so crappy, when even the mirror camera are better than that. I mean I guess it's useful to just see in general if all your shit is still there, but come on,cameras like that that can do 1080p are like $10 and in millions of 5 year old cell phones.

I find the front camera stays fairly clean but the back camera is pretty useless in winter... if it snows the whole tailgate gets covered in 2" of snow covering the camera and light. And if no snow it gets covered in road grim 2 mins after a car wash and cant see out of it...

Im coming from a 2014 GMC sierra and am a bit disappointed that the camera isn't much better on this new truck. As far as winter i just lick my thumb and wipe the camera.
