I had a recall for the Takata airbag injectors with my last pickup truck and I was able to disable the one on the passenger side with my ignition key. If I was in an accident and the airbag discharged and sent shrapnel throughout the cab it could be deadly.Have you actually had an issue with your wiper motor or are you just afraid it won't work when it's raining?
If my brakes failed without warning or a wheel came loose while driving on the freeway it could end with fatal results for me and for others on the road. When there have been recalls for tires where the bead could break and the tire explode and cars like the Ford Explorers would roll over at high speed, the smart person would change them out at the first opportunity.
If the wiper motor fails, which happens without any warning whatsoever, I would not be able to see the road in front of the truck and could easily have a deadly accident. I avoided driving in any amount of rain until I could get the wiper motor replaced which I was able to do last week.
After 18 months of ownership I only drove the truck less than 2800 miles. Safety is very important to me with respect to any vehicle I use. I sold an otherwise excellent truck to get a new one with driver and passenger side airbags.
