Hi all

Curious if anyone who went through a buyback can fill me in on some details. My truck is nearing the minimum lemon law criteria and I may initiate a buyback as early as next week. I would prefer to just get a new truck and be done with it

questions I have:

1. Does Ford allow you to do a sub of collateral? Meaning will I be able to get a new truck and keep my loan terms?

2. What happens to my extended warranty? Do I cancel and get a refund or will Ford apply it to my new vehicle?

3. If I have to wait for a new truck to be delivered or built, will Ford provide a rental car?

4. If I were to get a new truck in place of the lemon, do you have to deal with the same dealership or can you go wherever? I only ask because the dealership that I purchased my truck from doesn’t have much in stock.

I appreciate any insight. I’m super stressed and any advice would help ease my anxiety.

The laws are different in every state. I'd contact a Lemon Law attorney in your state since they have done thousands of these cases and will know exactly what you can expect. That said, it tends to be a long process that takes several months, at least.

1. No! Clean slate.
2. Cancel it through the dealer extended warranty was purchased.
3. No!
4. After they do your buyback, you can go wherever you want to get your new one!

My buyback process took about a month after I initiated the process.
