2021 5.0 with 9,xxx miles. Brakes are squealing pretty bad. They have plenty of life left to them. I’ve only towed a small utility trailer less than 10 miles. I’ve had in the dealer twice for it, had the rotors turned and pads scuffed, also been told by the dealer that “ it’s a common issue:mad: but Ford won’t replace anything. Anybody else have this issue. Don’t want to but I’m about to just buy a better set of pads and rotors myself

My 17 did this at about 10k miles. I pulled the pads off and cleaned them up and reinstalled with a liberal amount of anti squeal. Never came back

Mine does this on rare occasion. Mostly when I back out of the driveway.

Brake squeal is not uncommon with semi-metalic and ceramic brake pads. It could just be an unusually large piece of metal in the pad material causing it. Otherwise the issue is almost certainly caused by the pad vibrating against the caliper retainer clips and rotor when under light pressure. Less likely causes are form surface rust from an overnight rain can sometimes cause this issue. The last thing that can cause squealing brakes is because of glazing from repeated heavy braking.

Before you go replacing parts, get some disk brake quiet spray and some anti-seize compound. Pull the pads off and apply a liberal coat of disk brake quiet on the backs of the pads where they contact the caliper arms and pistons. Apply anti-seize on the metal to metal contact points where the ant-rattle clips attach to the caliper brackets and caliper pins.

You can also skip the disk brake quiet and de-glaze the rotors and pads with an emery sanding disk attached to a drill. Spin the rotor and lightly buff the rotor surfaces to rough them up. Then repeat on the pads (make sure to wear a mask for the dust. Then reassemble everything and take the truck out and complete a brake bedding in procedure.

Yes my ‘22 does this constantly as well. It started around 6k miles and I’m at 18k and it’s not any better. I just haven’t had the time to pull it apart so I just deal with it for now

Follow a bed in procedure as your first step. Warm up the vehicle and brakes. Perform 3-4 60-20 mph braking events in rapid succession, never coming to a complete stop during the operation or for a few minutes after to allow the brakes to cool. Number of attempts needed to get the brakes hot will vary by vehicle and vehicle condition. What you want is to get a nice even layer of pad transfer into the rotors. Machining your rotors did nothing except cut off whatever pad transfer you had. I agree with above that it's possible/likely there are some larger metallic compounds exposed right now that are causing the sound. Ultimately if rebidding the pads to the rotors doesn't work after a few attempts, you could swap to an aftermarket pad solution. There are probably dozens out there. My only disagreement with a post above is that ceramic pads do not tend to squeal more, they squeal less. The two main advantages of ceramics is to reduce noise and dusting.
