Thanks for the reply.. Did you just get used to yours? i am in pain every time i drive unfortunately
At some point, it's not your truck.

I don't know the length of time you're driving for, but I doubt you're spending 8-10 hours behind the wheel.

I am not, really i drive it maybe 30 mins a day. Always an ache in my inner thigh and above my knee.

I drive my 2018 F150 work truck daily for hours with no issues. I drive my wife's RAV4 with no issues.

As soon as i hop in my personal F150, 10 mins later and i am aching and in pain. It is driving me absolutely crazy

Happy to help any way I can!

I am used to it to the point where I'm not in pain but I don't take many long trips. I had a 2021 regular cab which i traded in for a 2023 crew cab with adaptive cruise which is crucial for my bum right knee when I do take long trips with my truck.

The pedal size and spacing in these trucks is the worst I've experienced in any vehicle period. I drive for a living so comfort to me, is key. Even my previous car, a Kia with a manual with tiny little pedals was great. The gas pedal on these trucks is too large and too far to the right. The brake pedal is super high off the floor and too spaced to the left. Frankly I'm surprised I don't hear more complaints about this issue on here.

Unfortunately i agree. The brake pedal is over an inch further to the left than 2 different vehicles i measured. Doesn't seem like much but it does affect the ergonomics. Really disappointed about it as i love the truck but i am not sure what to do.

As for the brake pedal height, i have found there is a way to adjust it and it is fairly simple.

If you look under the brake pedal, it has this arm. Mine had 2 nuts but yours should have one. Simply loosen the nut and turn the long rod, one direction will lower the pedal and the other will raise it. Once you found a height you like, tighten the nut back down. Doesn't affect the mechanism whatsoever and makes a big difference.

I did this and it helps but i still experience pain everytime i drive. Considering trading it in for something else..

I have already made use of this adjustment and find minimal improvement. It only moves the pedal back and forth relative to the gas pedal. Not up and down. What is your main complaint with the pedals? I've come up with a few ideas... Maybe we can keep you in this truck?

i think my biggest issue is when i go from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, with the brake pedal being further to the left, my leg is at a weird angle to reach it. Repeatedly angling my leg like this i think is the issue. If i could adjust the pedals to shift vertically just a few inches, i think the problem would be solved

I was thinking of making a block out of 2x6, gluing carpet to the top. Then remove the floor mat, screwing up thru the mat and reinstalling it. Shouldn't move then. I put a scrap piece of 2x4 under where my foot rests and that seemed to make a big difference in my pedal "attack angle". Won't cost you much to test fit....

Huh so you pretty much raised your foot level and that seemed to help? I was thinking of stacking some floor mats on top of each other haha

I never got around to fully implementing it. I just got so far as to put the wood under where my foot sits and drove around the block. Really seemed like it would work. Another thought I had was taking it to a welder and have him pull the brake pedal assembly, cut the pedal pad off and redo the weld further over where I want the pedal to be. My welding skills are not up to job so that hasn't happened yet either ?

I also considered the welding thing! Man this is crazy. I did buy it used and it has a 12 month comprehensive warranty, my next step is taking it to a Ford dealership and seeing it they can find anything. I can understand feeling discomfort after driving for hours but i am in serious pain after only 15-20 minutes. This cannot be normal

I'm not a small guy, over 6' and wear a size 12 shoe and it's not that great for me. I'm not sure how anyone smaller can make it work without floating their feet while driving. Which, as I came to find out, my wife's foot never makes contact with the floor when she's braking in any car. Insanity.

Unfortunately I don't think ford will be of much help. Is your truck a regular cab? If not, does it have the center console? The way the center console narrows as it gets closer to the dash is another contributing factor. Try putting something between your right knee and the console if you have one. I've found a folded up thick dish cloth gives me enough of a push off the console with my knee that the angle I have to push the pedals is much better. That's another mod that's on the list....

Its a crew cab and does have the center console. I like the idea of putting something there to angle my knee better, i'm going to try it tomorrow. Yeah really when i brake, my leg is angled significantly to the left. In any other vehicle, my leg stays straight, just my heel rotates but i can't in this truck

That's my exact issue. Don't worry, there are solutions that won't be super expensive. I've looked at add on arm rest pads with a rigid backing that are intended for your left elbow. Some have adhesive backing and you could install it where your right knee touches the console. That's one issue solved cheap and easy. But try the wood on the floor and the towel by your knee, I bet you'll find that's all you need. From there it's just about making the mods not look like shit.

Thanks man. Yeah i was looking at adding some kind of cover to the brake pedal that was maybe wider somehow. I'm going to try your suggestions and see how that feels!

I searched far and wide for a pedal cover that did what I wanted and found nothing. I figured raising my foot was easier than lowering the pedal. Hitting the corner of the brake pedal is nothing new. That's where they're all worn
