Borla exhaust for Powerboost released

I can't imagine how funny sounding the PB would be. I heard a Chevy with an exhaust and the cylinder deactivation pull up to a stop sign. When it left it was like "wow that sounds goofy" and then all 8 came on and it sounded normal.

The PowerBoost just seems like it would be strange, and I use mine as a generator a LOT and the whole point of it was how Q U I E T it is. Adding an exhaust would defeat the purpose for me. But I can totally get behind wanting to hear it.

this is why we need a valved option. Quiet for generator use, loud when you want it.

I have never liked super loud exhausts that can be heard in the next county. Thats is why I have always gravitated to the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers when upgrading. They do offer a nice increase in flow over OEM but are nearly as quiet especially at idle as most OEM mufflers. They usually produce a deep mellow tone during acceleration that you can hear in underpasses or parking garages but otherwise nothing obnoxious. And are pretty inexpensive as well and can be installed in minutes by any competent exhaust shop.

I didn’t know this ... I thought my PB BAP came with dual exhaust. Makes sense, but I was all excited to relive my dual exhaust high school days. Oh well. I guess i’ll just grow a mullet instead.

No thanks. I'd rather have dual exit from the factory, or just swap the only chrome piece on my truck with a FP black exhaust tip instead.

If it were the 5.0L, this would be a totally different discussion.

1500 for cat back exhaust is cheap… the one on my M3 was 7k ….

Impossible to make a 6 cylinder sound good. Just is what it is. Many have tried, and they've all failed. Since it can't sound good, and the factory exhaust is quiet, well, such a product is a 'solution' in search of a problem. Every F150 6 cylinder I've heard sound like a USPS LLV (aka, the white boxed mail truck).

When the PB is heat scavenging the exhaust, that's when it sounds the best as it's the quietest it can be.

Depends on what you like … Porsche GT3 and e46 m3 sound damn good … not is good as a v8 but not as good as a v10r v12 they are pure sex …

I just don't see the point of upgrading unless it was a substantial weight savings or increased power (including sticker)

Maybe I have just been annoyed too much with Honda Civics, squatted straight piped Chevy's or random fecalboxes but I haven't changed an exhaust out in a few years. I for one am thankful that an external speaker wasn't added for exhaust sound while in electric mode
