This has happened to me twice now in the past two months so it's piqued my curiosity.

A couple of months ago I was driving through a small town in a remote part of the state toward my destination and had two things happen:

First my bluetooth/android auto disconnected, then a few seconds later sync/main display goes into a hard reboot while I'm driving. I thought that was weird. On the way back the next day going through that same area, the exact same sequence happened.

After that I hadn't had that problem till tonight, this time driving a backish road outside of town bluetooth/android auto disconnects then sync does a hard reboot. On my way back from my destination tonight driving by this same area outside of town the bluetooth disconnects again but the computer doesn't reboot.

The fact that this sequence of events happened in the same area going to/from while driving by seems suspicious. Anyone else ran into this or have thoughts on what would cause it? My initial thoughts based in where I was at would be tinfoil hat folks with a blocker of some sort, but that's just a wild guess.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your bluetooth concerns on my end.

:ROFLMAO: @Thefreddler you triggered the algorithm with that one.

Joking aside, there could be one of a few factors causing this. Some of the early Sync4 builds had issues with random reboots and black screen crashes. Might want to check to see what Sync build you're on. You might be on a build that had some of these issues.

Since it's related to a geographic area, there may be something out there that is flooding the area with EMF radiation in the 2.4 GHz band that bluetooth and wifi are on that's interfering with the connection and possibly the Sync system. This could be unshielded microwave radiation, radar towers, power transmission line or transformer noise, corporate or pirate radio, high power site-to-site wifi, or even geo-magnetic anomalies causing problems in that frequency band.

I have a similar issue occurring for me as well. Without fail when I pass a certain exit commuting to and from work my bluetooth cuts out for 5-10 seconds before coming back. I've also had the screen go black and reboot Sync a few times (2-3 times over about 6 months) in the same location as well. I don't believe that it's occurred in any other location.

This is my second Ford with a weird electronic issue. My Mustang key fob/touch to lock/unlock wouldn't work at all if I was parked at my house...leave the neighborhood and no issues. Ford was never able to figure that one out so I don't hold too much hope for the bluetooth issue either.
