BlueCruise not working with open road ahead

I’ve got a 2021 King Ranch and have had Blue Cruise since delivery. Recently I drove 10 hours on interstate highways and noticed that BC would engage flawlessly and stay on in traffic - when a vehicle in front of me would limit my set speed.

But once I changed lanes or passed someone and there was open road in front of me, it would disconnect and go to regular assisted cruise control. Not once would it stay on when on open road.

Has anyone else experienced this?

"hands free" only operates below 81 mph....

I have driven to Key West, FL from Northern IN and used BlueCruise for hours each day and night. Still had times when it would go to Intelligent Cruise for exit/entrance ramps but drove right through construction zones. I always had my hands ready and it did drop here or there but would come back on.

It made a huge difference in two days of 9 hours of driving both ways.
