I've seen this happen 1000 times. It should eventually go through. Unless the OTA gets canceled by the server, the OTA trigger will remain active for 30 days, so you have time to get it to go through.

Edit: I recommend you try what I posted above. The last time the OTA failed, it clearly said BMS data quality was the issue.
At this point we can only hope. After waiting 2 years I should have guessed Ford would make me work for it ?

I am hopping that after not touching it till 6 the next morning it should have time to relearn. That did work with the AC update.

Ok did a BMS reset so that failed again. So back on the charger and schedule it for 6 am tomorrow morning. This time connected the negative to the block so this will definitely charge through the BMS for sure this time.

I also read somewhere you need to turn off the headlights. I am not sure why. I thought the switch was a soft switch but I'll try anything at this point.

I am almost beginning to wonder if I have a bad BMS.

What I don't understand is why do they make you close and lock the hood if you need a battery charger to update the system?
I tried about 10 times and also charged the battery with a charger, all failed, now can’t even try so you may have the same problem as me, whatever that may be.

Rugedraw,

Ok it failed again after being on the charger and not being touched for at least 12 hours I think. But this time was different. I checked my phone this morning and it said the App Catalog was running. That message only happens if the truck was started.

So on my truck, under software updates it says there are none for my truck. So does this mean that there are none or none in the que yet for me? If I connect via FDRS and a mongoose cable, will it find updates available for me?

It's still saying BMS data quality is the reason.

Ford F-150 BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now 1749740428445-cu

Yes. Message me the VIN and I can check for later when I get home.

In the data it says drain rate. It's that in amps milliamps? What is that showing. It's been on the charger all night and still is and I checked the charger and it says the battery is at full charge.

At this point I am thinking I just need to drive it for an hour.

Not exactly sure, tbh. It would be helpful if it provided the acceptable tolerance instead just saying what it is at. I know SoC is a percentage, I know capacity is 70 is max for an H6 12v and 80 is make for an H7 (Mach E and Lightning max capacity is 35 with their smaller 12v). So your SoC is not bad at 86% and capacity is perfect a t 70. I think you just need to find a way to get the SoC over 90%. I would take it for a drive, keep the a/c fan speed on 5, and try to manually install it as soon as you park.

That's the plan now. I have read the since people had problems with a bad BMS where the SOC never gets above 86% despite the battery being over 90.

If the drive doesn't move the needle I'll take it in the the dealer I guess.

Ok I just finished a 90 minute drive and started the update. I am afraid to look at Ford Pass for the next 2 hours. Who knows what interrupts the process.

If you get a chance Rugedraw can you check it?

Update: I looked. Of course it failed.

I had a lot of issues similar to you back in February when mine was gettigninstalled. A 20 minute drive followed by a manual install finally did the trick. Ipulle dout allt he other stops: new H7, charger, I even hooked up my other car (while running) with juper cables and that didn't work. I think the fan 5, 20-30 minute (or longer) drive, and manually starting the install immediately after the drive is the secret sauce. I understand that it can be frustrating, and I let the FMC engineers know aboutmy troubles in a post install Zoom.

Well I tried a 90 minute drive followed by manual install and Ford Pass said it failed again. Have to see what Rugedraw can see.

I did the 90 minute drive yesterday. Did immediate install. It failed at 6pm. It auto scheduled at 1AM it failed again. Just manually scheduled it 15 minutes ago. It is now updating.

Could be it took the overnight 8 hours after the 1AM failure to learn the latest SoC after the 90 minute drive yesterday.

This whole process is voodoo.
