BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now

Anyone know what happens if it tries to get this update a bunch of times and fails, and then no longer allows the truck to even try? It’s no longer attempting or giving me the option. I even charged my battery with a charger and it still didn’t work. The battery is fine, no warnings or low power mode at all.

OTAs get downloaded using the truck's modem and not wifi. Notification would pop up in the truck and Fordpass, but Fordpass does not always notify you.

So in reality there is no reason to connect to Wi-Fi at night?

Having the truck change lanes with me just using the turn signal lever was very cool. Also the truck shows a message asking me if I want to pass someone when it senses that I'm going slower than the set speed and it's safe to pass.

If it says "not complete", then the OTA failed and you have to wait for it to be resent.

Only 2 or 3 OTAs have ever been sent out that are wifi required, but this isn't one of them. It doesn't hurt anything to leave it connected to WiFi.

Thanks, that’s what it says. I tried and failed probably 10+ times and now can no longer try. I’d honestly be fine if the updates just stopped for good but I’ll try again if it shows up.

That's the one. Your battery is below specs. The OTA will fail if it tries to install now. If you have a 12v charger, now is a good time to plug it in.

Can you check and see why mine keeps failing? I charged my battery. I reset the BMS and it still seems to keep failing.

Still the battery. For this one, I think SoC needs to be at 90% due to the time it takes to install. If yoiu can, take it for a 20 minute drive with the a/c fan speed set at least 5 as that will trigger the system to charge the 12v battery.

Thanks. The charger was showing it had %100 charge and was in maintenance mode. I'll put a different charger on.


Update: Sure enough the other battery charger showed 75% charge. Schumacher FTW.

Ford did release for the the 23s? I still haven't seen anything above 1.0 in almost 3 years for my Platinum.

Hey bud new to the group but not new too ford lol. I’m actually the GSM of a ford dealer in Florida. So my question is I have a 23 platty f150 powerboost and I’m still on 1.0 bluecruise. I had my tech at my Svc dept do a manual update on all my stuff in oasis in FMC under FDRS. Unfortunately my ceo got rid of all the forscans for my techs because it’s not a ford approved item. lol. Sux, lol, anyway my question is I just received the APIM update latest one from sync and I still haven’t received the 1.4 update and I still have another year on my subscription, 3 years on Ford’s dime lol, and I was wondering if there’s any other way I can update without using a forscan, which I don’t have my hands on neither myself or my ford dealer. I run my vin in FDRS everyday at work and still no 1.4. Btw I see the IPMA with the code ending in bbc I believe so I think I am 1.4 ready!! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

THIS IS WHEN I PULL FDRS AT MY WORK COMPUTER, THE BBC AT THE END I BELIEVE MEANS AN UP TO DATE WITH BBC, BUT SYILL NO 1.4 LOL UPDATE

BTW, I just got the OTA notice yesterday. Working on getting my battery up to level to successfully install now. ?

The battery was charged to 100% on the correct side of the BMS terminal so it should have registered.

Ok did a BMS reset so that failed again. So back on the charger and schedule it for 6 am tomorrow morning. This time connected the negative to the block so this will definitely charge through the BMS for sure this time.

I also read somewhere you need to turn off the headlights. I am not sure why. I thought the switch was a soft switch but I'll try anything at this point.

I am almost beginning to wonder if I have a bad BMS.

What I don't understand is why do they make you close and lock the hood if you need a battery charger to update the system?

I've seen this happen 1000 times. It should eventually go through. Unless the OTA gets canceled by the server, the OTA trigger will remain active for 30 days, so you have time to get it to go through.

Edit: I recommend you try what I posted above. The last time the OTA failed, it clearly said BMS data quality was the issue.
