In the case of the 2024+ trucks, Ford has not released the BC 1.4 IPMA software yet, so no need to bother checking.
Ford did release for the the 23s? I still haven't seen anything above 1.0 in almost 3 years for my Platinum.

It's released in FDRS and available via OTA. The problem with the OTA process is that it sucks and there's no way to know when any vehicle will get it sent.

Ironic because the only updates I get mostly are to the update process.

Yea, we know all about it. This is why many of us just go the FDRS route and do the updates ourselves.

I would except on principal. If I didn't have to pay for a special cable a dongle and a software subscription to get something that Ford told me was supported in my subscription price already I would.

I get principal. Really, I do. I've chosen it often in my life.

But, I've had 1.4 for 1.5 years now. So the OTHER principal outweighed for me.

The one where I am old, running out of time to squeeze everything I can out of every day. And Ford's lack of FNV/software prowess ain't gonna steal my joy.

It helps to have multiple vehicles that FDRS applies. So I can tell myself that amortizated over multiple years and multiple vehicles that it's actually rather a bargain.

We've all been there; me included. I had the same mentality when I joined the forum 3.5 years ago. After a few months of no BC at all, failing updates and no help from multiple dealers, I bought a used Mongoose on ebay and freed myself from the dependency of the OTA process and dealers forever.

I loan the cables out for free, so you don't really have to buy anything other than a power supply and a 2-day license for FDRS.

Thanks for the information. If my frustration levels reach that degree I just may inquire about your cable loan option after all.

It would be so simple for Ford to make us all happy if they just did what they promised.

My disgust with Ford's shortcomings are outweighed by what they are world class at.

Gotta accept the bad to get my hands on the good.

I've had a lot of trucks in my decades. This Powerboost isn't the only good one. And I currently have 4 Ford trucks. (1 is a transit van) But 3 years in, it's still holding the bar for the best truck I have ever driven or owned. Admittedly, I'm a dead bullseye for the targeted Powerboost customer.
