And with the update from the ford tech, magic of FORScan and Rugedraw secret sauce, I finally have 1.4 working! Finally, my wife can stop making fun of me as she has had lane change for a few months in her 2025 Explorer.

So, after Ford Tech updated and I activated 1.4 BC, it worked great. The funny thing is that 1 week later I received the notification that a new update was available and would be installed in my install window overnight. It was BC 1.4, which ran and updated (again), so.... Yeah. It is doubly updated now, I guess. Still working great.

Just like my AC update. Twice. So now my truck is doubly cold.

Wish i could get a free year. Mine expires this month but I’m not paying $325 for a year or $725 for 3. I don’t get to use it much anyway so guess it doesn’t matter

I think Ford is going to have a come to Jesus moment when their renewals are few and far between.

Are you sure that Ford isn't offering you a free year on your 2021?

With quite a few miles on BC 1.4 I have to say, I think it improved some things but there are some things about it I don't love

A very annoying feature is that it slows down a LOT around corners. I set BC at 80 as traffic near me is usually going 80-90. BC 1.4 will slow the car down to 65 sometimes... around slow, gradual bends that you can easily take at 80 or even faster. You can manually accelerate it and it will perform fine but it's annoying and defeats the purpose to have to do that. 1.0 didn't do this and would maintain itself perfectly fine at 80 through these same roads.

1.4 does also seems to annoy me with the "watch the road" thing more than it did before. It feels like when I look at the center console screen, by the time I've read the song title it's already chirping at me about watching the road...

New user here. Bought my 24 used. They want me pay either $50 a month or $500 for the year. Not doing either since I pretty much never go on the highway but I wish there was a way for me to try it out.

But my question is, does ford change the price for people? Or does it tend to fluctuate?

You can turn that off with FORScan. Many people don't like it. I don't like it, either.

Welcome to the forum.

They changed it a few times, I think. I know 2021 owners got special pricing and some trucks got a free year. I don't think the 2024+ models get anything special in terms of pricing.

Oh wow... Can you share the forscan info to disable that feature?

@rugedraw, Do you mean (I hope!) that it is possible to disable the 'watch the road', 'nanny-cam' warnings via forscan? I can't stand that feature!! Thanks!

Interesting, I noticed "Predictive Speed Assist" was set to "off" despite being fully functional (and annoyingly intrusive)

But when I turned it "on" it created another menu, for "Tolerance"

This menu allows you to adjust the speed +/- 20mph from the posted speed limit. I'm going to experiment with this tomorrow - if the posted speed limit is 65 and I'm going 80, then setting it to +10 should allow it to drop to only 75 around curves, which I'm ok with

I'd prefer to have the feature usable to some extent, because when taking roadtrips on unfamiliar roads it'd be nice to set it to a lower tolerance to slow me down a bit more

I'm hoping it does. Mine expires in September and I do use it but don't think I want to pay a subscription for that; truck was expensive enough as it is. Maybe I would get it for a single month for a very long road trip but even then I don't want to encourage their subscription model. BMW backed off after people complained for the subscription heated seats.

Bluecruise is a very different subscription model, in so many ways, than heated seats.
Would be like comparing Starlink to a heated blanket. ?

But I absolutely DO agree with those that think Ford should have better (different) subscription options than they currently offer.

No, that cannot be turned off. Well, it can, but it disables BC completely if you do.
