Black radio screen

My wife was leaving the house in my truck and said when she cranked it the cluster said something like auto hold not functioning or something like that and the radio does not turn on or anything. No sound or anything.
2023 stx 5.0 8" screen.
Any ideas for when I get to mess with it.

Because the sync screen is black (blank) and nothing works, reboot it. Hold down the audio power knob and track forward button. Normally I'd say "until the screen blanks"; but because it is already blank, hold them down for at least 20 seconds then let them go.

At this stage I would ignore the auto hold message unless it is happening on each ignition cycle. If you have FORScan, check what DTCs are listed.

I'm at it now. Tried power button forward hold. She said it says traction control not working too. When I crank it I get no displayed warnings or anything just the radio won't turn on

And of course I don't have an owners manual it's in sync. So the screen won't turn on so I can access my owners manual to find the fuse just to see if it's maybe blown or something. Lol

I pulled the number 15 integrated control panel sync and cranked it nothing happened as expected then turned truck off and put fuse back in and the sync came back on and working fine.
I do appreciate the diagrams I'm screenshoting them to keep.
You think this is something I need to document with dealer or just keep an eye making sure it doesn't become the "norm"

What's your sync revision? I'd first check DTCs. I'd then watch for future issues and if they recur, then it's dealer time. Make sure to have issues acknowledged by dealer and preferably rectified before warranty expiration.

I'm not sure revision. Can't check dtc I'm to scared to mess with forscan. Lol. I'll definitely keep an eye and if it happens 1 more time I'm going to dealership.

Here's what worked for me in my F150 KR and for my wife's Lincoln Aviator when both of our screens went blank. If you have any cord plugged into a USB port, unplug it. You may have to start the vehicle a time or two but the screen should come back on. I'm not sure what causes it but it certainly work in both of my cases. It doesn't matter if the cord is charging something or not, just unplug it and leave it unplugged. Only use the USB when you need it and don't leave the cord in the port. Hopefully it will work for you.

Before I spent much time hunting around, any glitchy type electrical issue, would have me charging the battery, before doing anything else.

There are hundreds of posts bearing that out.

I'd pulled the fuse and when I put back in it came back on. Nothing plugged in and my wife had taken about a 40 min quiet trip with no radio. She went somewhere this morning in it and it worked just fine. I'm gonna keep an eye on it and if it does anything again it's straight to dealership
