I suggest not using an impact on them.

Yep, that's whats holding me back from buying the black lug nuts. I have 2024 F150 EB white with BAP and would really like the black lug nuts but I doubt Costco or Discount Tire are going to agree to not use an impact wrench.

If you are willing to spend the time, you could swap them out one lug at a time. Breaker bar, torque wrench and suitable socket should be all you need. Correct me if I am wrong , but it shouldn’t be necessary to require a jack to only remove and replace one lug nut at a time.

That sounds like a Johnny Cash song, "One Lug at a Time" :)

I think the OP is more concerned with future tire rotations VS initial install.

I use a breaker bar to break all of mine loose and then use an impact to buzz them off. I also use the impact to put them back on but I don't apply much torque once it's seated, finish it off with a torque wrench.

True enough. But if you want the look , then you will need to spend the time every 6000 miles or so, to remove the black, install the replacements and repeat after the tire rotation. Since the OP is in New Mexico, no need to worry about swapping out snow tires every year.

That's what I did. Then the dealer fucked them.. ?‍♂ I'll wait until it annoys me more, then find something better.

Don’t mean to sound like an asshole but why is this a big deal? Black lugnuts are available pretty much everywhere. You seem pretty excited are these special somehow?

All good my friend! I don't think they are special and it sounds like they are going to be more trouble than they are worth. I special ordered the truck and wanted the OEM black ones to complete the stock look. In two months I'm going to lift it anyways so it was probably just a waste of $170.

Jesus! $170. I wonder if they are better quality? I did not know ford even had oem ones. Seems stupid that they don’t put them on BAP trucks.

I did black lug nuts. Not that bad. Can always just use black nail polish if they scuff with tire shop

So surprisingly many manly uses for nail polish!

Lugnuts, the military uses clear nail polish to prevent loose threads on buttons, and I have a jar of pink to mark my starting spot sharpening chainsaw blades!
