Ford is advertising BlueCruise all the time now telling me how awesome it is to just hit the blinker to have it automatically change lanes. I took the deal and paid $600 for an additional 3 years believing their CEO that it would be rolling out. I did all the updates initially with the awesome help of the talented people on this forum to get it working at all initially. If Ford didn’t have people on forums like this BC would be a worse disaster than it has been on the F-150s. Anyone know what the delays are and why it hasn’t been enabled for us? I‘m starting to think this will be my first and last Ford.

Ford isn't a software company and they are taking their lumps. We got confirmed today that the 2024 trucks are shipping with BC 1.4, so it should be available in FDRS soon for the older vehicles. How long before OTA is another story, Ford is struggling mightily with those.

Good to hear it is on the ’24 now. Maybe it will drop so I can get an FDRS license and update before I drive on vacation Saturday. ?

I know I sound like a broken record, but you would be so much happier with a Comma than BlueCruise. It would be a tight squeeze to get one delivered before Saturday though.

With regards to blue cruise, if you get FDRS and install all available updates you will have the increased engagement, lane bias for 18 wheelers, and less annoying nanny that comes with BC 1.4. You just won't have automatic lane changes and slowing down for curves automatically, those are the features not available in FDRS yet.

Nope up to date but no 1.4. Definitely smoother with the updates though.
The problem with 1.4 is not with the software itself so much as the deployment. It was test released to the Mach E's months ago and a few vehicles got bricked so they paused the roll-out until they can figure out a better way to push it out. It's been 6 months and nothing yet.

That was IPC update 6.8.0 that caused it. The BC 1.4 update package is bigger and updates multiple modules at a time, so it is more problematic than that one.
Yea, I was just giving an example of the type of issue that stalled rollout.

It's so disappointing that the BC1.4 updates are available, install-able, and functional if you use FDRS.

It's the actual OTA mechanism that is causing the stall?

I got mongoose here, how do you get BC1.4 with FDRS?
2023 F150 latrit here, everything is updated with FDRS but still no BC1.4, stuck on 1.0

Then you have all the 1.4 code Ford has released. The BC is much better with these updates then 1.0. Truck is better engaged and does not drop out. Just the features are not enabled (i.e. lane change).

It is. It handles much better on curve-ly interstates, and it stays hands-free much longer after the update.

Not sure if Ford is holding it with Sync7, or just waiting for some other critical bugs

You can enable it. I figured it out after no one would help me. You need to update completely with FDRS and do changes in forscan. It actually wasn’t working until I got an over the air update even though I had all the options in the menus.
Lane change is slick and the lane bias is a nice feature.
As soon as you update in fdrs your BC is 1.4 just not fully featured. It’s now worth paying for. I usually put 1000’s of miles on BC a month and I’m very happy now.
