BAP Platinum with STX grill swap

Today I swapped the grill in my Black Appearance Platiumum with a STX grill. I personally think it looks much better. I was kind of disappointed with the grill in the BAP package and this is what I was hoping the truck would look like. Some before and after.

That looks good! I Didn’t think the new hoods would work with the standard grill but glad it worked out?

Ford really knocked it out of the park with the STX, thinking back I probably would have ordered one if I knew it existed

I wasn’t 100% sure it would work with this hood when I ordered it but a brand new grill factory painted in my color popped up on EBay so I figured I had to give it a try.

With the original grill it looked like the truck. Had an overbite as the top of the grill was set back from the leading edge of the hood. This grill sticks out past the hood on the top and looks more cohesive.

I opened this thread expecting to be disappointed, but it looks fantastic. The last 2-3 generations of STX have the best grille out of all the trim levels

Looks great. Massive improvement. I think the STX BAP is the best looking of the bunch. But, it doesn't have your hood, which is very nice.

Was thinking about changing the grill when I get my truck but found some lights for the center rail on the BAP/Tremor grills. It works as a DRL and signal light

@JeremyMTB Do you think doing the opposite of this would work? BAP Hood on a non-BAP truck? Would the hood latch still work? Things like that.

Well the guy who made them just sold out of his first 2 runs I believe. He makes 25 at a time. He has been testing them for months. Have to say he has done an excellent job.

OP - That grille looks good. I was underwhelmed with the BAP grille also. I love the polished Platinum grille however I’m not paying for one and then paying to have it patch matched. LOL

I have been wanting to do the same thing, were you able to use your inner part of the grill (the shutters)on the STX grill?
