Okay now, 2022 Powerboost Pltnm. Mine started out Ok and working and stayed open, then failed after a couple of weeks. Had an alignment issue of Steering wheel not being level while driving in a straight line. Had them address the console lid when I took it in for the alignment. I am currently sitting in the waiting room during the fourth attempt to rectify the issue. Several wrong parts ordered. Just FYI took four attempts to center the steering wheel!!! Let's see if it works this time, and for how long.

Update, they fixed it but service advisor says now that they know which part to order they will be able to get it fixed quicker next time. "Don't worry we can keep fixing it" Sounds like it is going to be an ongoing problem. Appears fixed for now, and the lid stays open now but does not feel solid.

Two nickels didn't quite do it, still left armrest half open/closed. Four nickels did the trick though, but had to basically place my head upside-down in order to do the top ones. Lid opens with some gusto now.

Thanks again for the tip!

Looks like you have a Limited. Do you have the work surface? I have a Platinum with work surface. The double nickel was doing the trick. I saw your post and I thought what the heck, do the double double nickel. I did, but mine doesn't fly open. It just pops open and I have to lift it up. It stays up though.

FANTASTIC!
.
UPDATE:
....I spent at least a half hour bending, twisting, pulling, and everything else one can think of and that spring end will not budge.
Leverage. I used 7" locking pliers. Lock on to the spring tab at a 45° angle. Now use leverage to easily lift the spring. Slide your nickel in and release the locking pliers. You can move anything with the correct leverage.

Don't feel bad about Ford trying to fix your Ford. They tried four times to get the sync4 update problem fixed and the last time they put in a new APIM and the truck STILL will not get updates. Guess it will be broke forever.

I do not have the work surface, so guessing the armrest is a bit lighter.

Armrest lid FIXED:
Complete write-up with how to. This repair will cost about $0.10 and 2 minutes.
Tools needed: Slotted screwdriver
First, go to the auto parts store, you are looking for any type of candy bar or treat. Pick up your favorite and go back out to your truck.
Next, lift up the armrest and curse that you have to hold it up. With the free hand, remove the trim piece directly below the spring to reveal the entire spring, hinge and bracket. The springs each have one "leg" that rests against the metal bracket; those are what will be adjusted.
Take two nickels from your coin holder and set aside. With the slotted screwdriver, gently pry/lift up one of the legs on one of the springs. Slide nickel below raised leg and remove screwdriver. Repeat for the other spring. Now, let go of the armrest and BAM! Stays up!

Jump back into the driver's seat and drop that candy bar/treat into the now "hands free" fully opened console for future snacking.

If Ford management was involved, they would save a few cents by using 3 pennies, but then have to issue a recall to replace them with your nickel!
