which subscription are you referring to by chance?
This is awkward.

You only partially own your truck, if you want to keep using BlueCruise after the 3 year trial is $600 for every three additional years.

oh yeah yeah blue cruise does require a subscription. so freaking stupid because i don’t even think GMC requires a subscription with their “super cruise”.

At least we don't have to rent our seat heaters like BMW owners.

You don't think GM requires any subscription for SuperCruise?

I wrote a check for my truck so I'm no stranger to spending money ?

I think I am just unfamiliar with FDRS in general so I was just looking at it from the $600 for full-screen apple play aspect. I'll look into this further though.
Yea I didn’t go into much detail because I see that you have a 22, but now looking deeper, I see that it’s still an early-ish 22 which may still have some updates. Mine was January 22 built and still had a few updates that improved driveability among other things. You may be in the same boat and it may be worth it for you. I imagine anyone with a 23 without blue cruise really wouldn’t benefit much from it though. At least not immediately, but in the long term I think any of us would benefit from it

i can’t confirm it as i have not done any research on GMC/Chevys yet. all i know is that GMC offers “super cruise” on their half ton trucks Lol.

OH nice, what would I be able to improve? I took delivery in August but it was early June Build.

Get on the vin request thread and ask for someone to check your VIN for updates. It depends on which modules you have updates available for. But essentially you can do any updates to the truck that a Ford technician can. And if you follow the directions on the FDRS thread you’ll have more success than a Ford tech too

Others have touched on it, but the Blue Cruise REQUIRES you to pay for Fords maps to be updated continuously. I think it's $200 per year after the 3 year free trial.

The Mongoose and FDRS license are worth every penny to me just to never experience the frustration of dealing with a service writer or any dealership treating me with apathy at best, insulting at worst.

And it's not just a Sync feature that I am wanting a self service approach. There is continuous development going on and I want access to the latest shifting strategy, battery management strategy, fueling strategy, EV strategy,............

Just the PCM updates over the first 2 years of Gen14 ownership have resulted in a much more polished version of the Powerboost drivability.

This forum has had a huge influence on the changes in ownership experience for me. It's been liberating. $600?
That wouldn't buy a bent wheel and tire replacement on this truck. :)
I am waiting for a major update to be missed or for my truck to start falling behind. SO far I've been lucky and am more or less on par with updates. I'm guessing within a year I'll end up with a mongoose cable, I just won't be able to resist being on the bleeding edge.

Is SuperCruise completely independent of OnStar?

Doesn't appear so, since SuperCruise is listed under an OnStar service.
https://www.onstar.com/services/super-cruise-hands-free-driving

EDIT: HOLY COW!!! $200 a year is starting to sound like a bargain.

"Add Super Cruise to your commute for only $25/month."

Double EDIT: These actually sounds a little advanced compared to Blue Cruise

  • With Lane Change On Demand, your car can change lanes while Super Cruise is active. If you activate this feature, when you use your turn signal it prompts the system to look for an acceptable opening in the indicated lane. Then, when there’s an opening, your car will merge into the intended lane.
  • When you activate the Automatic Lane Change* feature, your car will automatically pass slower vehicles in your lane without you having to touch any controls.

Appears both Navigation and SuperCruise are subscription based

I really don't want to abuse the generosity of those with FDRS access, but if anyone is willing to check on my OTA status, I would be very grateful!

My job1 2021 was built in December 2020, purchased in February 2021, and did not receive a single update until July 2022 (after I heavy-handed the dealer with the help of @Livnitup). Finally, after that last visit's APM programming and the preceding TCU/GWM replacements, my truck started receiving OTA updates at what seemed to be a relatively regular interval.

Unfortunately, that interval appears to have stopped again, with the last "Big things are coming..." update (3.5.2) being installed on 10/6/22. Since that time, I haven't seen any activity at all regarding available or forthcoming updates.

Since I am no longer able to view OTA history with @tonesto7 's scriptable widget (and have learned that I can't trust a word out of my dealer's mouth), I fear that my truck may be in another stage of "update lockout" like it had been previously.

Admittedly, since my actual Sync system issues were resolved after my last go-round with the dealer, OTA's are more a want than a need, but at the very least I'd like to know if anyone would be willing to check for any failed push attempts my truck may have encountered behind the scenes.

Thanks in advance for any insight!
