@SquigglyBrace (and others) - out of curiosity, What is your 13A049 harness suffix code?
I also have an EBD harness. Again mine is similar to yours in that I don't have on board scales. You should take a peek at your tail lights and check if you have the black or grey connector.

Assuming yours is grey like mine, I found another 2024 Lariat 502a powerboost that has on board scales and it has the "P" wiring harness. I'm tempted to just buy that but I haven't pulled the trigger yet as I'm already sitting on a "K" harness that I have no use for. If you end up going down that route, be sure to post here for others.

confirming I have the grey(almost white) connector.
Out of curosity, when you punch your VIN in online what part comes up as your native harness?

2024 f150 I installed OEM harness and jumpers switch and lights.tried to enable through forscan.nothing turns on? Any ideas? Now the harness was 2024 XLT crew cab with bed lights and an inverter .now,I now have a harness with a plug for inverter,I don't think that would be preventing my bed lights from turning on do you?
Did you check and verify that you had the wires at the big C408 connector under the back? That is the only thing I con think of. If the wires aren't there, it doesn't matter which harness you use.

If I may butt in.i installed OEM bed lights on my 24 XL .I believe that the main harness that goes from the tail light harness all the way to the BCM must be replaced in order to work

You'll need to check and see if there is a wire in pin 31 and pin 28 on the top half of this connector. If they are not there then you wont be able to use any OEM harness and would need to get creative to get them wired. I believe both of those pins run up to the BCM. At that point I don't think it is worth it and would be better off tapping into the cargo light like some of the aftermarket kits do.

Hi,I agree.i have not checked.o also do not have a schematic to know the two locations.i changed the tail harness ,installed left and right jumpers, switch and added cargo lights.i went to enable on forscan.nothing.i used the harness ending with E which is a 2024 XLT crew cab.no scales but has a power inverter.so I now have the bed light plugs and a plug for a 120 volt inverter .I wonder if the two pin wires are not present that I would need to buy the main harness that will have the wires that goes from the rear half connector to the BCM.600 dollar harness, but maybe I can get an inverter and bed lights out of this.i have no idea if that's what needs to happen.does that sound right to you?

No you wont be able to add an inverter without a lot more work. It is not worth it at that point. The BCM may not have the correct programming either. If you don't have the wires in those two pins you are better off using an aftermarket kit.

Hey @nthads, it shows the "H" harness for my vin. Is yours the same?
@SquigglyBrace Just checked again, I am also an "H" online (even though it shows me as a 3.5 non-PB). Meaning:[RL3Z13A409H] : F150, LHD, Crew Cab, Tail lamps - Level 3, Less Lighting Packages, Dearborn Plant Build, Less Mass Movement Sensor, Power Inverter #4
Using that logic, it should be one of the following for us....

I am curious about these following for two reasons... #1 do open/close tailgates have lighting packages? and #2 if we want to add power close to our tailgates in the future is this the route to go now? ?‍♂

@nthads, Correct I purchased RL3Z13A409K and have shown in previous posts what I got. It clearly has the black connectors which didn't fit our trucks :(

Regarding power close, I don't know if the motor would fit and/or what all would be required to make that work. However, since this harness came from a truck with the BUP which comes with power close, I wouldn't think it would get in the way and prevent you from adding that if you wanted to dig down that path. But I'm no expert here, take that at face value.

Regarding the ML3Z13A409E part, I believe that's a 2023 part number and this was redesigned in 2024 hence the need for us to buy this. Had I known how much of a PITA this was going to be, I probably would have just bought the BUP option that comes with this. I was expecting that based on the 23 model year you just need to buy the lights, switch, and the 2 small light harnesses to make it work. I wasn't planning on having to buy this extra harness.

I have the same color tail light connectors in my 2024 Lariat 501a as you do. The weird thing is when I type my vin in the Ford parts site, and type in my existing harness RL3T-13A409-EAD it says it doesn’t fit my vehicle. Lol.. I know the J harness doesn’t work in my application. Maybe it is the P harness?? It would be nice if they had some pics on the parts sight like every other part in this install.

Finally got around to installing this. I went the OEM route for my 2024 XLt without scales these parts work for my truck, with three changes in forscan. I used all existing mounts for the rear harness (clips) much easier to drop the spare tire to do this right so it is OEM, dealer wouldn’t be able to tell. lol. Here’s a list of what I ordered.

This was perfect for anyone wondering what to do for a 2024 XLT - thank you Psarnicola. A couple quick tips - the main harness replacement seems a little daunting at first….trace the line first so you can visualize the work ahead and then place the new harness in as you pull the old one out. Start from the driver side rear, and work your way back to the passenger side. Don’t rush, take your time. Also, I ordered from Fairway Ford and paid even less than Tasca - here’s a screenshot of the parts I ordered and prices. This is relatively easy to do and took me just over an hour.
