Thank you to GR8BBQ! I got this done for about $80 using lights from eBay, Ford harnesses on the side and making my own harness to connect everything. Your pictures and descriptions rocked.

Thanks! I love the fact that it all works like a factory option was ordered. I can control from the cab or from the bed, and the lights fade just like factory. Glad to see it's helping!

What harness would I need for a 2024 stx? The only options the truck has are the 5.0 and tow/haul package.
Did you figure out what harness you need for your 2024 STX 5.0?

Hello all just picked up a 2024 Lariat after trading in my 2012 FX2. I'm about to pull the trigger on adding the lights to the bed and wanted to see if I'm tracking what I've read correctly.

checking my truck, I currently have the RL3T-13A409DAD wiring assembly. From what I gather the RL3Z13A409E should work as a replacement...Earlgsxr600 mentioned the RL3T assembly on several trucks he looked at back in July.

Any confirmation anyone can offer is greatly appreciated! Thanks to all in this thread for figuring this out!

I successfully added OEM bed lights to my 2024 Tremor. Found another Tremor online with bed package. Used that VIN and requested the wiring schematic (With part #'s) from local Ford dealer. Purchased the 3 harnesses online cheaper than local dealer. Swapped out main taillight harness, connected bed light harness on each side, changed settings with Forscan. Truck has LED tailights so if you have halogen this main harness will not work.

New member here. Does your Tremor have the Pro Access tailgate? Thanks!!

I went ahead and ordered everything including the E harness. From my own research it seems to match when checking the different part number harness options on the Ford parts site.

I'll post my experience and pics once all the parts come in, I've got everything but the E harness at this point. Should be here next week.

Stay tuned :)

Quick Update
  1. It seems r3lz13A409E or J have the options we need for LED taillights, no scales, and bed lamps. r3lz13A409G is what my VIN suggests on parts.ford.com (no bed lights). J would be the equivalent with bed lights based on the description and a check I did using another VIN.
  2. I've verified the upstream harness is the same for trucks with bed lights vs. no bed lights. parts.ford.com shows r3lz14405AL for both. This is great news!
  3. I went through every wire in each harness, making a spreadsheet list and pinout for each. The small white/green and green/violet wires dead-end in our upstream connector. These colors match the wire colors shown in the photos I posted above of the factory bed lamp harnesses. White dummy pins currently block these wires on the downstream side. See photo below
  4. Next, I needed to find the pins to attach to our new wires (unless you want to replace the entire harness which I don't want to do since its 200-300 bucks). I got the part number from that main connector (7297-0094-30) and found the drawings from Yazaki. Just google the number and you'll see that connector.
Reading through the drawing notes, I found the compatible pins/terminals for the smaller wires are 7195-0157-02. Again, google that number and you can see those. These would attach to our new wires and plug into the main connector after we remove those white dummy pins. I'll have to look at the ground more since it already goes through the connector to the taillights.
Using the connectors would keep everything in the factory connectors and able to quick disconnect. The other, perhaps simpler, option would be to just pull those white/green and green/violet wires out of the upstream side and properly connect those directly to our new wires.
I can post more details later, but I'm getting close to ordering parts and giving it a shot. Just need to decide/research the last few pieces.

If anyone has a 2024 service manual and could post the bed lamp wiring, that would be helpful/comforting. The bed lamp wire colors mentioned above match what I took photos of on other 24 trucks, but they do not match bed lamp drawings I've seen posted of other 21-23 trucks. You'll see green/blue on those.

Thanks!!! From what I’ve been reading the E harness seems to be the one. A lot of very bright minds on here. Pretty miffed a Lariat doesn’t come standard with these lights.. Lol

Yup spin i got was you had to get the new fancy tailgate package with the upgraded tailgate door gimmick to get the lights. I wasn't interested in that tailgate so here I am :)

Just traded in my ‘21 Lariat for ‘24. Man. What a disappointment with all the changes. Really? Bed lights? How about the tail gate is down only now? Rear heated seat? Gone!

Yep they’ve dropped a lot of options. But something as simple as bed lights should be standard on any pickup. Period. And it’s something that’s doable to a mechanically inclined person. Hence all the posts on it.

I will look closer but on the 23 it had a pigtail with a cap (dummy plug) one on drive and passenger side by bumper that you would just pop cap of and plug in for lights and switch.
I have a 2024 F150 XLT with 303A and 360 camera with trailer assist etc. however there is no pigtail capped to connect the OEM harness. Ford cheeped out yet again and the bummer is this was only truck available with options I wanted and was told it could be added but dealer lied.
I now need another harness and I was told it one that connects to the main connector by the spare tire if this is true where can I find this as I have the reset of the parts installed.

Thanks Jeff
