the "E" harness came in yesterday...that was the last part I was waiting on. the actual part number I received is RL3T-12A409-BEE. Re-checking Ford Parts shows this to still be the E harness and should have all the connections for the existing stuff, inverter and now bed lights.

for those wondering which harness...using https://parts.ford.com/ and looking up your existing harness part number should show you the accessory connections to match against.

for example:

Part #: RL3Z13A409G <- which matches my "DAD" harness

Usage: 12/18/2023, F150, Crew Cab, Tail lamps - Level 3, Less Lighting Packages, Dearborn Plant Build, Less Mass Movement Sensor, Power Inverter #1

compared to:

Part #: RL3Z13A409E <- matches the "BEE" harness I received

Tail lamps. Lighting Package Level A. Power Inverter #1. Dearborn Electrical Vehicle - Crew Cab.

Not exactly the same wording but further research made me feel confident enough to pull the trigger.

I've verified my Forscan software is up to date and connection works in the truck...checked all the plugs on the new hardware, that's good.

As soon as this winter storm situation passes, I plan to get this done by this weekend. I'll take tons of pics and if I can get good video I'll try. I plan to verify the existing harness and the new one before installing, if I get those pics before completion I'll upload those prior to the full install pics.

i did some digging and would like to know if it is any of these - there seem to be a number of options for a 2024.

Looking back in the thread, Earlgsxr600 identified this part number as the upstream harness which should already be there. What you should be targetting is the r3lz13a409 harness that matches your accessory layout. Hope this helps!

Hit a bit of a snag with my install...apparently the E harness I received....doesn't support the LED taillights. I'm hunting now for another RL3Z-13A409 harness as this and the "K" mentioned previously don't support the LED tails :(

If anyone has insight to the correct harness, I'd appreciate it :)

Again referencing Earlgsxr600 post I screenshotted earlier the "J" harness appears to be what I'm after in supporting my LED taillights. I've reached out to the parts dept I bought the "E" harness from to see if I can return and swap out to the J.

This may be my dummy tax as I should have checked the "J" harness as they match except for the lighting package....duh!

Do your led tailights have BLSS?? I am assume that is what the mass movement sensor is? I believe mine do. I’ll verify at lunch today.

Hey, yeah my truck has the BLIS system. it stands for Blind Spot Information System. Then there is also the scales that can tell you what your bed cargo load is. I don't have the scales on my truck.

My undestanding is the " Less Mass Movement Sensor " is for trucks without the scale function.

I've ordered the J harness expecting it this week so hopefully can put this one to bed...pun intended :p

I have Blis w/o scales also. Hope the “J” harness is correct as I ordered it last week also. Lol

I have a Lariot 502a without scales and using a similar truck with the bed utility package I was able to figure out that I should get # RL3Z-13A409-K.
I edited my comment but replying here as well. Can confirm the K wire did not fit the LED tail lights in my 24 Lariat 502a powerboost. I didn't get around to installing it yet as it's been very cold and it was on back order for awhile. I only received it a few weeks ago.

and the "K" mentioned previously don't support the LED tails :(
After seeing your message about the K harness not working with the LED tails I took off my tail light and you're right the connector is different. The confusing part is that I used a window sticker of a truck with the same exact features as mine but they have the BUP package which gets the bed lights and per parts.ford.com, the K wire should be the one. I'm super confused by this.

The descriptions for K says:
2/18/2023, F150, F-150, Crew Cab, Lighting Package Level A, Tail lamps - Level 3, Dearborn Plant Build, Less Mass Movement Sensor, Power Inverter #4

And my description for H, from my vin is:
12/18/2023, F150, Crew Cab, Tail lamps - Level 3, Less Lighting Packages, Dearborn Plant Build, Less Mass Movement Sensor, Power Inverter #4

This is the harness I received. It says: RL3T-13A409-DDD. It has the connectors for the bed lights but again the connector for the tail light is wrong. For reference, my truck has the EBD harness on it.

Did anyone figure out how to convert these 3 digits to the single letter, ex K?

So I was digging into this a bit more and I think my "K" harness is correct in that it does support LED tail lights but my tail lights must be a bit different. Wondering if anyone else can confirm what theirs look like?

Here is a pic of the "K" wiring harness connector:
Ford F-150 Anyone install 2024 OEM LED bed lights 1738596400847-

But this is what my tail lights look like:

The thing to point out is that my tail lights have these "ears", for lack of a better term, (highlighted with a red X) that stick out to ensure only the correct plug is attached is not symmetrical on both sides. On the left you see that is more to the outside arc vs the right being more towards the center.

But if you look at the "K" wiring harness, those ears are symmetrical, ie the same on both sides. I wonder if this has anything to do with on board scales. I don't have them but my window sticker shows .LESS ONBOARDSCALE/SMART HITCH:

SquigglyBrace, I have definitely NOT cracked the code...hopefully my 2nd swing at bat is a good one with this J harness. should be here in a few days.

the variations are crazy on these things...very over engineered

Did more research this morning by looking around at a dealership near me. However, the one close by did not have exactly what I was looking for. All the lariats with bed lights also had the multi function tailgate and I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Those do have a different light/camera layout.

Here is a summary of each followed by the 3 digits.

Lariat
Bed lights, single 120 outlet. & Multi tailgate, pretty sure no scales
DCD

Tremor
Bed lights, single 120 outlet, regular tailgate, includes onboard scales
EDD

2 XLT
Bed lights, single outlet, regular tailgate, no scales
BED

I did look at another without bed lights, just to cross reference it to mine(EAD) which also doesn't have bed lights. The other was DAD. Note the 2 common letters.

The XLT and Lariats had the same driver side light wiring. RL3T 13B669 BB.
I couldn't see the passenger side.

I don't understand the last digits in these harnesses yet. It seems each letter stands for various options, but when looking at ford parts . com you can only select a single ending letter vs 3 as we see each has.

I'm not 100% confident on this yet(more like 95%) but it seems the green/white wire feeds the lights and the green/violet is the push button input. Black/yellow for ground. I'm thinking it may be cheaper and easier to tie into those wires from the upstream harness or add those into your own factory taillight/downstream harness vs dealing with all variations on the harnesses. Could be almost 200 cheaper since you don't have to replace your original downstream harness.

My next steps are to look for a truck similar to mine and get the exact last 3 letters. Then try to figure out how to specify all 3 on these websites to order the right thing.

Otherwise, I might order the lights and button and try to tie those in as mention above. I'd only do this after close examination that those dead end in the upstream connector.

I've already done some forscan work but I'll hook up again just to make sure I see the options as described in the 2023 and below forums before ordering anything.
