Anyone added back the removed CHMSL camera - AKA bed camera?

Just posting what I found.
If the part was pulled from a vehicle, it would make sense the camera would already be installed.
From what I've found online, what comes in the box from Ford is the light assembly with a hole for the camera, but no camera.

So that part is in your hands? Can you unwrap it?

Yeah there's something inconsistent here. For that part, Tasca shows a diagram WITH THE CAMERA (4) included.

Tasca also says that older part number is replaced by the one you said didn't include the camera.

Love to hear from other people what they ordered and received.

But I agree... given the price, it should include the camera.
I bought a replacement non-camera LED version for my 2019 and it was less than $200 from Tasca.

OK, that sounds less than definitive then. I don't think I'd order from a reseller, but order from Tasca or Ford Parts Giant etc.

If you type in the M*-E number, it bumps directly over to the N*-A number on Tasca:

I'll probably order one anyway, but want to wait to triple check the 12pin is there in my 2023 502A tomorrow.

If the camera is only 39.44 (nl3z19g490a) why not just buy the camera and an aftermarket lens w/camera hole

Hi everyone, I followed all the instructions and everything seemed good except I am having display issues. The view of the bed will be clear then it will scramble then go to blue screen. Am I missing something possible defective camera as I bought it used ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Double check your connections on both the harness in the headliner and the camera connection in the brake light itself.
If it still does this, the camera is most likely defective.

Thanks for the advise, it seems to be a bad connection from the harness to the camera connection. I will be taking it back for an exchange.

I just did mine 3 days ago. From the looks of your screen, it looks like it's the camera. As stated, check all connections.

I just bought a 2023 F-150 Lariat Ecoboost 3.5 and unfortunately the chmsl w/ camera was deleted on the second truck the dealer told me "This new truck is everthing and more." Long story short, they first sold me a recalled demo with everthing I wanted (pretty much the same truck) with the max tow package. Ultimately my fault for just taking their word on "It's the same truck, but you're gaining power steps and lockable storage." What they didn't point out, I would be losing the larger fuel tank, bed utility package and chmsl w camera. Sorry for venting ?.

I confirmed the 12 pin grey plug is there and ordered a new in box OEM chmsl NL3Z-13A613-A on ebay (confirmed the camera was included). From the picture taken, does the 12 pin harness look correct?

I already have forscan and used it to add the box lights (which the dealer also told me was impossible to add OEM). Excited to get this added, as it's really one of the last things I'm missing.

That should be it, if I recall. Should be tucked away, behind the exiting light. Did you verify the new light you ordered has the wire harness?

Yes, the part is brand new in the OEM box / antistatic bag, so am sure the harness will be there. Used was $360 and found that new in box for $375 so went that route.

For the box lights, those were also missing on my new truck and were on the recalled, so added them with the switch and made the changes with forscan to activate.

Thanks for the post. I found a light with a camera at a local scrap yard and installed. I'm kind of disappointed at the camera quality. It's VGA quality if that.

It is pure garbage quality, but gets the job done when it comes to monitoring your bed.
All the other cameras are high resolution.
