Hello. I’ve read through this whole thread a couple of months ago when I first thought of doing this upgrade. Today, I finally got around to installing everything. I had to upgrade my harness in the back of the truck to work with the kit since all of the wires weren’t populated in my plug. Everything works great. My question seems like it probably has an obvious answer but I can’t seem to find it in this thread (maybe it’s hidden somewhere). I bought a yaw sensor separate from the TPMS/camera kit, but can’t figure out how it installs since the TPMS/camera uses the same cable that the Yaw sensor does. I essentially have two cables (one for the TPMS/Camera and one for the yaw sensor) but only one plug in the back of my truck. Hopefully this makes sense. Can anyone help me out?

FWIW .... I ordered TPMS + Cam kit LC3Z1A189A (with TPMS & Cam but NO Yaw Sensor because mine is a 5th-wheel trailer, not compatible with my 2022 F150's backup assist).

However, the trailer harness that came with that kit has, from front to rear:
  • The '12-pin' connector for the bumper socket
  • A branch in the harness with connector for a Yaw Sensor (which I am not using)
  • A branch in the harness with the connector for the TPMS Module
  • A connector for the Cam at the rear end
The Yaw Sensor and TPMS Module branches are each about 5-6ft long; the whole thing end-to-end is about 40+ft long.

So, even though I did not order or receive the Yaw Sensor, the trailer harness in that kit is (or at least was when I ordered on 6/13/2022) configured to add one (providing support for TPMS + Cam + Yaw Sensor in a single harness to a single bumper connector).

Nope, I've no idea of the PN for that harness alone or how to source one, but it sounds like that's what you need.

Good Luck!

Well after reading through all the pages of this and also taking a trip to my dealership today, I'm back to square one so hoping someone on here can help. I'm trying to see if anyone can give me the correct part number for the wiring harness you've used. It seems to have changed a bunch even in this thread so want to make sure I order the right part. I have a 2021 Platinum and only 2 wires coming out of the 12-pin connector. The issues I'm struggling with is since my truck is a platinum, I have 6 parking sensors so I want to make sure I get the correct harness to upgrade by 12-pin connect as well as cover all 6 of the sensors. Thanks in advance and really hoping someone will be able to help!

did you see my post from page 23? Here's the post, the bottom line is this harness ML3Z-13A576-TFA did work perfectly on my 2021 PB. I just had to remove the dual exhaust brackets, but that's all and it plugged into the existing harness perfectly.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here but after reading all 23 pages of this thread I want to make sure harness ML3Z-13A576-TFA, which is for the dual exhaust F-150s will work with my single exhaust 2021 F-150 PB. My dealer sold me my truck claiming I could use have the backup camera and TPMS trailer sensors. They included the LC3Z-1A189A kit but back in early 2022 the harness was not correct on my truck and Ford was not making it. I SOLD the camera and TPMS kit thinking I was never going to get it to work. I told my dealer about ML3Z-13A576-TFA BEFORE I read it was for the dual exhaust truck.

So my question is, will the ML3Z-13A576-TFA work other than the bracket for the dual exhaust? I don't want to go back to the dealer and tell then they need to order ML3Z-13A576-J instead of the TFA part number.

I only care about the TPMS at this time. I bought a wireless camera kit that works fine but I still want to get tire pressures and temps with the display I currently see on my instrument cluster.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for posting that. Unfortunately these settings were way off for my truck and caused a bunch of very odd issues. I put it back to where I had it. Still no rear camera function but the tpms is cool. I'll keep fussing with it and maybe I'll stumble across a solution.
Did you ever find a solution to this? I’m planning to swap my rear harness here soon and wondering if I will be able to get camera working. I also do not have the 360 camera option.

So I did some searching and found the wires for trailer camera do not go all the way to the IPMA on tucks not equipped with 360 cams. The wiring goes from the back of the truck to the front but stops at C316. so would need to run wires from C316 through firewall to IPMA and hope the IPMA supported it. or else would have to replace with a IPMA for 360 cams.

Bummer.. I was worried that was the case. I've never got mine to work but the tire monitoring is nice. time to trade her in on a 360 equipped truck lol

Yea i definitely wish I had ordered the 360cams now. Didn’t seem like something I needed when I ordered the truck. might try to add the wires to the harness and see if I can get the camera to work. worst case I’ve seen it’s possible to add 360 cams with a bit of labour. I just replaced the rear bumper harness with ML3Z 13A576 PB. Installed the LC3Z 1A189 A tpms kit on trailer and activated the trailer TPMS display with forscan. But truck won’t pick up the sensor module. Just says trailer not detected on the tpms screen. So gotta figure out what’s going on there

I suggest connecting temporary wires to the IPMA before going to the trouble of adding wires to the harness. Whatever you do, it will be big job just to get to the IPMA, no?

yea i planned to use some jumper wires to test it before i run in the harness. the wires only need to go from front fender well thru the firewall to IPMA which is only about 12-16 inches. would just need to add pins to 2 connectors and run though the firewall. shouldn't be very hard

So after doing some more testing i found out why my truck won't pick up the trailer tpms module. The harness from the front fender (c316) to the dash harness (c238) does not contain the can bus wires needed for the trailer tpms. The dash harness has the wires going to the gateway. And the harness going all the way to the back of the truck has them. But they decided to not include them in the harness going through the firewall. How annoying.

You stated earlier that it's "time to trade it in on a 360 camera equipped truck". If you do, check to see the number of conductors going to the 12-pin plug, assuming it has one. Many 21+ trucks have only 2 wires for the yaw sensor. I had to replace the rear harness on mine. I now have yaw sensor, TPMS and wired camera.

I got the trailer TPMS menu to display on the instrument panel but haven't played with it while connected to the trailer, yet. I doubt it if it's as adjustable as my TST TPMS but I'm happy to give that up to reduce the clutter in the truck. I've got an IR thermometer I can use to check the hub temps occasionally. (It predates my having a TPMS with temp sensors.)

FWIW / FYI, on my 2022 which required the rear harness upgrade to add the Cam / TPMS functionality, the resulting IPC trailer TPMS system menu provides concurrent graphic display of all individual trailer tire temperatures and pressures. The adjustable user-configured desired trailer-tire pressure value and associated low-pressure alert must be the same single value for all tires. It does not allow setting of a temperature-based alert.

Very happy with it, so glad to no longer mess with a separate TPMS system for my trailer (y)

I plugged in the 12-pin connector for the first time since enabling the trailer TPMS. The truck recognized the sending unit and that it doesn't have any sensors recorded. I haven't even mounted those, yet.

It allows only even numbers of sensors. That probably makes sense but the TST unit is a bit more sophisticated in that I can have an odd number, the odd one out being the spare.

While I like being able to monitor the pressure in the unmounted spare, I don't think that will work in this scenario, anyway. If I understand correctly, the tire has to be moving to activate the sensor. I'll just carry a $15 Amazon reprogramming tool to activate the sensor on the spare, should I need to use it.

I programmed the trailer sensors in the truck. The truck is not as intelligent in this feature as it is in others. E.g., it doesn't seem to associate the trailer TPMS sensor with the trailer.

It recognized the trailer sensor repeater when I plugged in the 12-pin connector from trailer but I hadn't selected a trailer. In order to reprogram the sensors, e.g., when you rotate wheels, you have to pick "new trailer". The only thing you can revise without doing that is the selected pressure which must be the same for all wheels.

Also, the reprogramming sequence is driver side front tire, passenger front tire, passenger rear tire, then driver rear tire. That's unnecessary walking. Why not both driver size wheels followed by both passenger side wheels?

Reprogramming by bleeding air requires a lot of bleeding. I confirmed this TPMS Relearn Tool (Amazon) works for both the truck and trailer, separately. The truck sensors are 433 MHz, which the tool recognizes in "Ford" mode; the trailer sensors are 315 MHz, which the tool recognizes in "GM" mode. By using the tool, you don't have to bleed the tires when reprogramming sensors.
