Anti-Theft While Running

This probably applies more to Powerboost owners than regular F-150 owners but the regular F-150 owners must run the truck to use their inverter too.

Does anyone take any special measures to secure your truck while you leave it running? For example, a boot or a steering wheel "club". Is there an anti theft device like IGLA or Revelco that can let the truck run but still prevent it from driving off if some thief wants to give it a try.

What do you do, if anything, or do you know of any device that could accomplish this.

I had IGLA installed in my Powerboost. It alows me to start the engine as normal , it will run indefinitly with all function ie AC etc, but without disarming the IGLA it can not be put in drive and driven. It simply shuts the truck down when put in gear. If curious about this , do a search for IGLA In 2024 F150 on utube. I'll try to post a link later in the day , I'm out of the house shortly. This is the second vehicle we have used IGLA in , and are very satisfied with it.

My 23 PB won't shift out of park without the FOB while in gen mode. So for long power outages it's just FOB in the Faraday box as normal.

I'll have to check this but maybe you know. Could you get in the truck and turn off PPOB from the screen and then put the truck in Drive? Is this possible since the truck is already running or will the shifting into Drive be soley dependent on that FOB.

That is great information about IGLA. I do like this system but I did think that it only prevented you from starting the vehicle. This does sound like it is a nice option for PB owners that want to use the PPOB regularly and have an extra layer of security. I'll dig into that youtube vid.

The young man at my fire house who has the FORSCAN software enabled the police option that prevents putting the truck in drive when parked and left running with no fob present. I do not have a power boost.

My ‘22 XLT with 5.0 will not shift out of park with engine running and no FOB present, no Forscan programming necessary.

Full disclosure, I have not actually tried PPOB with IGLA. The installer says no problem and the truck will idle with the air on indefinitly. My understanding is IGLA kills the engine only if the authentication has not been entered before attemting to put it in drive.I got the truck home and have been buried in work since. I've been able to fit some truck stuff in , but not PPOB so far.

No FOB, No Shift. But, when out in desert riding ATV and leave truck ON I Club it.

I have a ‘21 job 1 and I had to enable that mode myself. Unlike the newer trucks, you could jump in and drive my ‘21 without the key when idling in generator mode.

Unsure when that became a factory setting, but worth testing out how things work if you have an older truck.
