I really loved my truck traveling the USA for 6 weeks and putting over 10K miles during that time. There was one thing I wished could be changed in the software and that is the "Something is plugged in the bed outlet message." I realize the purpose is to help ensure the item plugged in is secure before enabling the power outlet to be turned on and before you can drive the vehicle, but did the folks at Ford really think this one out well? In my opinion the answer is no. During my 6 weeks traveling 10K miles I had a microwave oven and Jackery for my refrigerator plugged in the bed outlet. I was disbursed camping every night.

It literally took me about 20 extra seconds every timed I pressed the start button and brake to send power to the outlets and the truck allowing me to drive the truck. Having to press the okay buttons over and over is very annoying when you know that your microwave and refrigerator is secured. I wish Ford could change the time interval or better yet only enable the something is plugged into the bed outlet one time per plugging something in or out of the bed outlet

I think manufacturers are going to err on the side of caution with something like that. 20 seconds isn't very long. The question is, is this something that you could disable in Forscan. I would be interested to know that.

I just want to be able to turn off that dang double honk upon exit. THAT is the definition of annoying.
I don't know for sure, but I bet you could go in to Forscan and turn it off. Do you use Forscan?

I don’t have Forscan but I want to know if they will try to void my warranty. I only have 700 miles on my truck right now.

Shouldn't be voided for using Forscan. You can always change it back before taking it in for work so they'd never even know.

That is another annoying thing I had to deal with everyday, multiple times each day during my trip across America. My work around for the double honk was to try to remember to leave the keys in the truck - which sometimes causes security concerns leaving the keys in the truck. I wish I had an easier option than Forscan to inform the truck that I am always parked outside. It would be my luck that anything I did in Forscan would get overridden during the OTA updates. Thus, I currently do not plan to use Forscan. Can anyone confirm that Forscan updates would not be overridden?

If Forscan could turn off the annoying feature that doesn't allow you to move the transmission into drive before pressing the OK button to acknowledge something is plugged into your bed outlet, I may indeed chance using Forscan. However, I prefer pressing the OK button if something is plugged into the bed outlet one time per plugging something in or out of the bed outlet.
