Android Auto acting up? Reboot your phone.

About a month ago, AA was showing tiny lines for highways and secondary roads not at all. Then switched to daylight mode.

Fiddled with the controls in the truck, no joy. Same for the phone, with the same result.

Had a hunch and rebooted the phone. Perfect.

Happened again yesterday (phone probably hadn't been rebooted since) Rebooted the phone while I was in a store. Worked as it should on the way home.

So, just like when these things get glitchy, a spell on a battery charger, cures many ills, rebooting your phone may do the trick, if your having issues with AA and one could presume, car play.

I reboot my phone once a week or so. Keeps any gremlins away and takes 20 seconds.

Yup, always start with the phone. The Android Auto/Apple CarPlay system for the most part just mirrors what's happening on your phone.

Can you set a reboot schedule on an android phone. I run a personal and work profile on mine and I find that makes things wonky sometimes so have my phone reboot at night a few times a week to keep things running smoothly.

My bad. That was a typo. I meant to say "you can set a reboot schedule....." Super easy to do. Not sure what version you have but on android 15 it's under Device Care / Auto Optimization.

I have my Android 15 phone set to reboot nightly at 2:30a. and have very few issues with Android Auto.
