I was making a few changes in FORScan and turned off the fake engine noise, then proceeded to disable the ANC. Upon checking, it is already disabled.

I was actually just asking @Livnitup about this yesterday on another forum. As per him:

"If you have the B&O then try changing this in DSP: 783-01-01 Exxx xx--"

I haven't had a chance to go in there yet and do it, but that is what he suggested to me. Yours being a 2023 may have different hardware? Maybe he can chime in and verify that this will work for your case, as well.

Oddly enough, I unplugged the DSP (audio turned off) and drove the vehicle at varying speeds, and I could not tell any difference from when it was plugged in with the audio volume at 0. I think the ANC is off, as it runs thru the DSP, and if the DSP has no power, the ANC can't function. If it is on, it doesn't appear to be doing anything.

I see what he is referring to:

E =CD Enabled • APIM Log Missing APIM messages • EM Enabled • ANC Disable ANC

I will check that right now.

I am having issues where the bass from my aftermarket subs gets turned down at high volumes after a few seconds of listening to music. I am assuming that the ANC is responsible for it. Curious and hoping this helps my case.

Changed it from F to E... took it down the road and back... did not notice any change in noise.

I'm thinking with the mics disabled it would not work anyway, but for sure it can't be working now.

You could try it, but I believe that is something else in the DSP, and I'm not sure if there is anything in FORScan that can prevent it unless maybe turning off the EQ.

I know the AudioControl LC2i has a setting on it to compensate for fading sub volume.

I know you are in the process of putting together a sound system for your truck. If you do figure it out, lmk what you did.

i thought the ANC was only enabled in 2.7 engines trucks and not with BO unleashed
however the fake engine noise is enabled
i turned off engine noise , and i have 3.5 eco
i can say turning off engine noise made the cabin that much quieter.
my cabin is pretty darn quiet IMO

Does anyone know if this “active noise canceling” is really active or just an algorithm in the dsp?

where the mics? What color wires are going to them?

I'm using the mOBridge in my install. I think the only time you'd have to worry about the sub fading at higher volumes is if you are feeding from the sub signal in the back, after the DSP.

I turned off the fake engine noise too, but my wife and I could not hear any engine noise to begin with in this one. The previous unit we had (traded 2023 for 2023 due to bad transmission) we could clearly hear engine noise. I thought maybe it was the fake engine noise, but never got a chance to turn it off to find out. I heard no different when at idle today in the new truck after switching it off in FORScan, but again, I was not hearing any engine noise anyway.

The mics are in the headliner. If you look in the headliner, they match the color well, but you'll see 3 small plastic mic grills/covers. As I've already stated... I don't think they were active in my truck. The mics were turned off in FORScan, and if the mics are turned off, the ANC can't be working. Turning the ANC off, did not make any change in mine, which further confirms it must have been disabled from the mics being disabled.

I spoke with one of the guys at Sounds Good Stereo and he said they've done a ton of installs in these trucks, and they have never changed any settings with the ANC or mics, and they've never had any issues with the systems. I just really don't think it is active.

ANC Is only in certain applications. The ACM has the ANC calibration. Not all ACMs have the ANC calibration.

B&O only For 2.7, 3.5 and PowerBoost has ANC.

No 5.0 has ANC B&O or not

The ANC bit in the ACM 727-04-01

and in the DSP

so to get this right
if we have 3.5 and B O stereo we have ANC enabled by default?
if so cooool that explains how quiet the cabin is

and what are the differences in the calibrations its lists in forscan spreadsheet in acm?
mine is 01 ,
thanks

Still don't see how it can be working if the mics are off and it is disabled in the DSP. My mics were off when I opened FORScan.

I am pretty sure that I am getting my signal after the DSP.

Either way, turning off the ANC is easy and if it makes no difference to my situation, then I know my issue lies elsewhere; most likely what you said. I'm not going to stress it too much. My truck is a lease, so I didn't want to get crazy with the sound system like I have in past vehicles I've owned. I threw in two subs and a bass control knob on top of the unleashed system and called it a day. However, I drive very little so I have low miles, I love my truck, and with prices now, I am well inclined to buy it at the end of the lease in 18 months with the longest ESP I can buy. I only have 9k miles on it in 18 months, and almost 500 of those miles were put on it driving it home from where I bought it.

The point: I'm most likely going to rip everything out and put a more serious system in it sooner than later where this will be a non-issue anyway.

Because its in the ACM calibration. There are two additional software fields that are for ANC.. Its not a turn it off situaiton
