Adding trailer brake controller to 2024 F-150 Lariat

Thank you! I changed the one bit from 0 to 1 and that cleared the U2100, *but*... Before I had three entries in the IPC easy mode - after changing the as-built I only had one, trailer brake controller - no gain setting, etc. The truck responds to a squeeze of the controller and changes in gain setting (still says no trailer with my trailer emulator), but I'm a little worried about the absence of those two settings. Also, should I enable TBA? That wasn't there before.

Can anyone verify that this is what my IPC easy mode should look like after changing the TRM as-built to the correct config?

Try the values below in the modules indicated. Ignore whatever you have where the x's and dashes are. After making the changes reset the APIM (FORScan wrench icon).

Livinitup, finally got around to this and everything appears to work. The gain adjust shows on the dash when hitting the + and - and the I get the trailer disconnected warning when activating the slider. I'll hook up to a trailer at work next week to double check. Thanks again for the coding, it was extremely easy to do!

I was just hunting for parts for the second F150 we have and found there is now a part # RL3Z-19H332-AA Does anyone know if the part with the AA suffix rather than the single A is different? Perhaps it included the module and the switch?

When I called to order mine, I was told that a single A is for Max Tow package and AA is for standard tow package.

hey I followed all the steps listed here and now when I push the lever or adjust the gain it says no trailer connected. Any suggestions? Backstory I had it installed at the dealer and they did not activate it at all nothing came up on screen. I followed your instructions and got it to pop up with gain, brakes, etc, but says no trailer attached when my trailer is attached.

I wonder if they didn’t install the new controller under the dash. If I had to guess, maybe they hooked it up and got errors and put the original back in and gave up.

I’m having a big problem with this as well. I’ve bought the correct module and installed it along with the slider , made all the changes mentioned in this thread and still no luck. With a trailer connected if I push the slider it says no trailer connected but my trailer brakes will activate, but when I press the brake pedal my trailer brakes do not activate. I can set the gain but the white bar doesn’t move when the slider is applied or brake pedal.

also check your trailer for issues my trailer 7 pin was bad and it worked after fixing it

That’s weird mine never did that. It was my first time using forscan and didn’t encounter that.

Never heard of this happening, but it’s obviously where your problem lies. Good luck, please post your solution if you figure it out incase others have same problem.

I've been following this thread as I prepared to add the trailer brake controller to my 2024 Lariat. My local dealer wanted the full list price of $295 for the controller and $595 for installation which is inspiration to DYI. Then I saw Ford Accessories had a 20% off sale and less than $200 for installation. My local dealer was not on the dealer installation list but one within 30 minutes from home was. I called and talked with their Accessory Department. They confirmed a full install and said a lot of dealers don't sign up because the loss in profit margin. I should get the TBC installed in a couple of weeks and will report.

I’m using the ELM 327 interface which might be the problem. I’m going to order the one posted on that thread and see what happens. Thanks
