I'd like to add a sub in factory location does anyone know if there's a direct replacement or something.
Or if the factory harness is there for a factory one to add easily. I have an xl/stx trim Screw regular audio no b&o
Thanks in advance

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the standard system has a factory sub. Ony the B&O system.

Yeah I don't have a sub in mine. I'd like to possibly add something for a little depth but not put under back seat to lose storage. Isn't the factory sub behing driver side rear seat.
If it is if like to find something for that space so I don't lose any storage area. I'm old now so I don't need to beat up the block with bass just a little something to add more to factory setup.

I getcha. The factory sub is mounted behind the seat, but it requires the B&O amp in order for it to get power. You would have to add an aftermarket amp to a tiny subwoofer made of cardboard. It will not be cost effective in comparison to just adding a little self-amplified sub.

Look into something like this maybe:

https://bazooka.com/collections/amp...ersal-mounting-bracket?variant=39849989865626

  • Height 8.37 in.
  • Width 7 in.
  • Length 18.5 in.
Something like this is a little pricier, but it takes up less space than a bass tube:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/jbl-ba...6p3InfurpXyOFX_66ORoCirwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Product Height
2.8 inches
Product Width
13.5 inches
Product Depth
9.8 inches

This would still be more cost effective than adding the stock sub and and amp to power it, and it would sound MUCH better.

Hmm I wonder if the jbl would fit in factory location. I'll have to check this out and get some measurements. Then convince myself I need this to happen. Lol.
Thanks for the links gives me some great ideas to get a start

i mean i hate to say it but if you want specific needs while being on a budget.. that's going to be hard on you. maybe @SoundsGoodStereo can help you out. they make specific audio setups 2021+ F150 any trim level and or configuration.

It's not exactly the budget just if I spend a decent amount on something I want it to be impressive. But I'm only just wanting a little depth nothing huge.

Do you have this. If so where'd you put it. Looks kind of nice. I was hoping to find something sound decent and fit around factory sub location so I don't lose any storage. But I'll definitely be looking more into this. Thanks
“Factory location” probably isn’t a good way to think about this. The factory sub included on the B&O setups is a bizarre little plastic box that vents directly to the outdoors. It goes in the middle opening here:

Ford F-150 Add sub in factory location 1693165727915

That said, there is room behind the rear seats for a very small enclosure in a SuperCrew, but watch your depth. I had this JL powered sub in my Lariat. It just barely fit behind the seat. And I do mean barely; the grille on the sub got dented by the seat.

Ford F-150 Add sub in factory location 1693166331443

You can see the dent in the above pic, that’s how tight it was. Before purchasing this, I looked up the dimensions of the enclosure and made a mockup from cardboard to see if it would fit. If you do this, remember to check the fit with the seat folded up if you want to retain that functionality. I made the mistake of not checking this, and was not able to fold my seat with the sub in place.

Our trucks do have a ridiculous amount of rear leg room. If you don’t mind losing a couple inches of that, you can buy yourself some room behind the seats with a kit like this one from MTI.

I used a low profile sub/amp in my 2011 SCAB shoved behind rear seat back. Tight fit but it was a great addition to that truck. I'm no audiophile though just wanted to fill the void of no bass with factory system. Cutting away some of the foam on outside wall can help gain an inch of space.
