OK, so first an update - I re-read the thread last night and saw one of your posts where you said that it may take time for the menu to change from Auto Highbeam to Glare Free, that it needs either a module reset or "to rest" for some time. I went back to the truck a few hours later last night and the Glare Free is there.

I guess what confused me was that the last line (734-01-04 xx53 4E) does not show the automaitc check codes (XX) so I wasn't sure if 4E are the first 2 or last 2 that I needed to update.

So now that I know 4E are the first 2, I went back and updated last line.
I then cleared DTC a couple of times - IPMA is still there.
I restored IPMA to the backed up and reset DTC - error is still there.
IPMA Module Reset, cleared DTC - error is still there.

I will drive it later, clear and re-check. And of course I'll have to wait for dark hours to check if my Glare Free highbeams even work after all this :D . I will report back.

Thanks again @ROBB1 !

P.S. this error could have been there for months, may have nothing to do with this mod at all.
You should be good go on the glare free. My feeling is that IPMA DTC was probably pre existing, but I think it was worth the effort to make sure something didn’t get changed by accident in the IPMA. We have all accidentally edited or fat fingered something at some point, myself included. That’s where the backup always comes in handy.

Probably, and I am not sure if you saw my edit for the post above regarding this error.

I did not when I first replied. I have heard several people state that the camera alignment procedure is required after the tailgate is removed to clear DTCs. I haven’t removed mine so I can’t speak to that directly.

First start after enabling Glare Free I had the Check Headlights error for a couple of seconds, it went away and never came back.

However, I am getting Reverse Brake Assist Not Available , I believe it correlates with the DTC in IPMA. As I mentioned, I had this error for a couple of weeks after tailgate removal for bed spray, but that was almost a year ago so I am not sure what triggered this.
You can also see that the lines behind the truck in the small camera are distorted.

Pardon dust on the screen.

I'll drive it later in the evening to test the glare free lights.

The reverse brake assist is normal after modules reset. I get it nearly every time I make a forscan change. Once you drive the truck it resets itself and you don’t get the warning the next trip.

The camera distortion is definitely a 360 cam alignment issue. Why you are just now having the issue I’m not sure. Nothing for the glare free should have any effect on that.

I am not sure either, and TBH I definitely cannot tell you if I had a camera distortion before or not. It may have been there and I never noticed it.

I drove again in the dark and Glare Free is working, but frankly other than the high beam deams in/out I am not sure what else I am supposed to see. It looks like the high beam is always on above 35 mph, I don't see the blue high beam light comes on at all.

Drive down a rural highway that has some traffic but trees lining the road. Then watch the matrix LEDs turn on and off as it shields oncoming and same-way traffic.

The blue high beam indicator will only come on if you manually select high beams. In auto / glare free it does not illuminate. There are certain conditions where the action is more obvious. As @Thetoad30 said, a dark rural road with something lining the sides really highlights it. The high beams dim sections for traffic, you will notice the sides of the road are still well lit when the center sections dim.

To put it another way: from traffics perspective your high beams are off, from your perspective the high beams are only off in the area immediately around the other vehicle.

In my experience, the best way to see flare free in action is to find a windy road with light fog and drive it at night. It will be very noticable with light fog what is happening. You can see the same on a straight stretch, but not quite as obvious.

As a newbie to the forscan world, I'm super interested in this. I have a 2022 Tremor 402a with the bendy headlights and auto high beam. What is the desired forscan controller everyone uses?

Obdlink EX or MX+ would be my recommendations (and forscans) for adapters. MX+ is what I use now.

I didn’t want to pay for the MX+, so I use this one: Vgate vLinker MC+ Bluetooth OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scan Tool for iPhone, Android, and Windows https://a.co/d/0d5xaLL

Full disclosure - I am not sure what the difference is between the two to justify a 100% price premium.

I would really like to know as well, I have no problem with the $140 price of the OBDlink MX+, but if the Vgate does the same thing for less than half, then I struggle to see why the pricier one is needed.

Here is what I could find the OBDLink MX+ is pricier because it comes with "free" unlimited OEM specific data add-ons in the obd link app. where the Vgate does not incude the vehicle specific add-ons and if you wanted them you would need to purchase them. The price is $14.99 for each make and model year of vehicle. what get from the app is if you buy the 2022 ford enhanced add-ons they will only work on model year 2022 ford and lincoln vehicles so if you had a 2021 f150 and a 2022 f150 you would have to purchase one for 2021 and one for 2022 ford for ~$30. FYI prices came from the obdlink app on android and may vary.

The add-ons give you things like module specific codes and live data that the standard obd2 protocol does not provide. for example in another thread someone has the engine timing advance data pid for monitoring how the octane rating of the fuel changes the timing this is a vehicle specific data pid and is only aviable if you purchase the add-on in the obdlink app.

I have the obdlink mx (the previous gen to the mx+) and its great would highly recommend any of obdlink's products.
