It's actually easy to tell the difference compared to the more common auto high/low activity. It's kinda strange to NOT see the switching back and forth.

I made the changes in Forscan last night and test drove it tonight. Thats a major win!! With the auto high beams the bright light icon would illuminate on the dash. Now it just stays green with the A in the middle. I can see them fade in when they kick on and noticed them dim out the left side for oncoming traffic. One time I guess it thought it was too aggressive so it shut off, car passed and they faded back on. Really slick feature!!

Has anyone had to reapply any changes after OTA/FDRS updates? I haven't driven my truck in the dark since updating it, but not sure if this is a change that gets reverted during the process or if it all stays. My assumption is that nothing has changed, but it would be great for confirmation.

I had to redo the SCCM change after a FDRS update once, but in general it seems the changes remain after a software updates. Definitely something to keep a eye out for after updates though.

From what I have found, you don’t really notice the leds dimming when another vehicle approaches, but if there is no further traffic, if you watch closely, you can observe the full high beams coming back on. Left side of the road lights up brighter .

Super smooth install on Job1 ‘22 Plat……..many thanks to @ROBB1 @Livnitup @tonesto7 for all the effort to enable an amazing upgrade in nighttime driving! Did not like the Auto High Beam feature as I use to get flashed often. Took mine out last night for a extended ride and not one flash yet I felt like the truck was putting out a lot of light. There’ll be no going back to anything else after this:::::::?

Still waiting on my Job 2 truck but what is the possibility of it being different than the Job 1 trucks for this to work? Is it equipment missing or modules.

My guess is that this was a removal of an option from the Canadian trucks that the hardware is being removed from all trucks, US and Canadian. However that is only my guess and as @DK4 said, no one know for sure yet.

No one even knows which equipment modules could be the cause of the removal of the option. Could be headlights, could be a chip.

My job 2 truck shipped this morning, if no one gets to try theirs before mine is in the driveway I'll go for it and see what happens.

I have already done the modification.

What I don't know is that the Job2 date has conflicting information. Is April 11 Job1 or Job2?

According to the admin, build week 3/21/2022 was the start date for Job2

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/⏱-2022-f-150-scheduling-next-week-2-7-for-build-week-3-21-job-2-start-up.8660/#:~:text=⏱ 2022 F-150 Scheduling Next Week (2/7) For,(Job #2 Start Up) Administrator Feb 4, 2022

Having said that, then it's official that there are Job2 Detroit trucks with the necessary hardware for glarefree.
But I don't think that guarantees that there's a unlimited Job2 supply of ANY components. Constraints don't exactly line up like that.

I think what you'll find is that they had inventory to still do glare free, but probably not enough to do all job 2 trucks. So they removed the option (remember it was a CA option only anyways). They will burn through what inventory they do have then move on to whatever equipment/hardware that has the limitations which forced the. to remove it.

So would one assume if you have dynamic bending as part of your build that it should house the same equipment to move the headlights once enabled for the adaptive part?
