Hi Luis. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

There's a TSB at one time to address a faulty temp sensor on/near the evaporator.

It's most likely the evaporator freezing due to a biased evaporator temperature sensor as described in TSB 22-2089. If the temp sensor is biased, fixing this issue will require replacing the entire evaporator assembly.

In AllData it's listed as a 9.2-9.8 hour job that requires removing the dashboard, but warranty pay is only 4.8-5.6 hours. It really makes me wonder why Ford doesn't allow for an evaporator temperature sensor offset like other manufactures. They could save a lot of money by just letting people set an offset with a scan tool, I'm fairly certain my wife's Nissan allows for +/- 5 degrees of adjustment to account for a minor inaccuracy in the sensor reading.

Yes I had the same issue after the 3rd time it happened I took my Powerboost to the dealership. They replaced the blower motor and I haven’t had any problems since. Whoever Ford contracted to make the blower motors probably just let a bad batch through.

Whoever this is using this account did not on anything to help me. When I contact the dealer they had no clue who this was and no ticket open on the issue YMMV.

Yeah, it sucks, usually I can turn the truck off for a minute and it starts working again but it seems to be getting worse and not coming back on. This past Monday I was headed back from a day at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Complex and had to drive with the windows down because it kept happening. I even had a video of me showing ambient temps blowing and then shut the truck off and back on immediately and the temps show 55°. This really sucks that @Ford Motor Company can’t figure it out. I’ve been dealing with it for 2 years.

I’ve had the same problem on my 21 Powerboost Limited since the truck was new. Dealer said the TSB did not apply to my VIN. They finally agreed to replace the sensor this year. I thought the problem was fixed, but it happened again last weekend. The evaporator is in fact freezing over with ice. I’ve learned that you do not have to shut the whole truck off to defrost the ice. Just turn off the compressor by deactivating the a/c and max a/c buttons, but leave the blower running. In a very short time you will feel the air coming out the vents. When the air is at max velocity the ice is gone. Push the a/c buttons to turn on the compressor. That is easy enough while I’m driving. But the real problem occurs if I’ve left the truck parked even for a short time with the a/c on to keep my very large Newfoundland dogs cool and it freezes up while I’m not in the truck. The temperature will rise rapidly inside the truck and will kill the dogs. It infuriates be that I can not get this problem fixed.

I took my 22 PB to the dealer with this problem, along with the TSB and some good quotes from you guys. Bad news: "this TSB doesn't apply to your VIN" (front office). More bad news (front office): "you have a leak in your evap core."
Good News (from the tech, when I was like, "what leak?!") : "I understand the problem, and the best way to fix is to call it an evap core leak b/c the parts come with the sensor you need, and it's all under warranty. " It took a week to get scheduled, but he says he replaced my sensor (or whatever the TSB and I assume this thread is about)

I just recently bought a 2023 F-150 Powerboost and had the A/C issues on my first long drive. An hour at 90+ degrees in a black truck was not a great experience. At least I could turn the A/C off and leave it for a few minutes then turn it back on for a bit.

Had the software update from the TSB applied and the A/C worked all 500 or so miles today! I am guessing by the variable air temp coming out of the vents that the A/C is getting cycled on/off which leads me to believe the newer software version keeps the A/C off enough to keep the condenser from freezing over. Still plenty of cold air to keep the truck at 72 when it's 100+ outside.

At least for anyone that doesn't have a hardware issue there is now a fix.
