Installed a Gopro 11 Black as a dash cam, yesterday and went for a drive. Gopro powered off several times, found out it over heated. Wanted to turn on the front defroster with AC. however the heat came on through the vents.
I turned everything off including the truck. On a restart with the defroster turned off and normal AC on but still hot air through the vents. Hit the max AC and the truck cooled off. Now the AC only works in MAX mode not regular AC mode.
Since it was a mild Winter this was the first time I turned the defroster on. What in the world is going on?

Any ideas? Truck is going for service tomorrow for a bad O2 sensor so I will show them this also.

Was 2021 F150 Powerboost now 2022 PB Platinum
I would start with a 12v system reboot. If that doesnt solve it I would check blend door positions/ movement.
Havent seen this one on the forum yet.

How do I do 12v system reboot?
And check blend/door positions, not sure what you mean.

And as an FYI I got the rear view mirror USB dongle and it powers up the Gopro just fine without the USB connected message and works just fine!

Hi Bruce. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

There is a TSB for this problem. And it requires an upgraded evaporator. I believe it is caused by frost buildup, but my truck was in for 48 hours and they had to pull the dash apart. In my case, on a longer journey, the AC completely shut down, including ventilated seats. There was no fan function, or any ram effect cooling. Fortunately, it was a sunny day I opened the panoramic roof, cracked, the windows, and no big deal.
Upon arrival at my destinations, I got out of the truck shut the engine off went to pay for parking got back in and everything was working again. Apparently this is not unusual behavior, but talk to your service department and I’m sure they will be able to find the TSB that relates to the AC issues.

Well, the techs and I both learned something today!
If you hit the max defrost button, it automatically sets the temp to max heat. I did not see that on the screen.
The Max AV will override that, but normal AC reverts to max heat.
The fix for my problem with the Gopro overheating is to have the AC on and hit the button to control the vents for the windshield/dash vents/foot.
Good thing I did not go off at the dealership when I duplicated the problem, I would be in the wrong for not knowing how it worked, but they did not know either so we both learned something.
Overall I am still learning about this truck after a year of ownership.

Oh, and I forgot they replaced the O2 sensor and fixed the Check Engine Light, so (for) now all is good!
