based on what i’ve dealt with, Ford dealerships want you to hand over the keys for at least a night or two just to “diagnose” the problem even if it’s obvious what the hell is going on. that’s just one part of it right. then say when the headlight replacement does come in, it’ll take them another couple days just to install that sucker. this is just simply my 2 cents..
Yeah, dealers suck. Imagine a 3rd party company that could handle repairs, and it'd be a merit based system whereby good service has customers rewarding the company with business. Quite tired of ford's approach (sure it's not limited to just them).

Great potential business model if we could just get the lobbyists out of the way.

One can dream at least.

you guys.. i am well aware that my truck comes with factory warranty. however it is a pain in my f*cking ass everytime i have to visit the dealerships and then deal with those ass hats. it also doesn't help the fact that my F150 is a daily work truck so therefore any down time is a huge no no.

I agree. It's a PITA going to the dealership. In case I missed it, did you get the recall done? I think it was just a software update for those lights.

Nice to see the 'simple' being treated as such.

Is that coincidence or just plain bad luck?

Dang man sorry to hear the other one went out. I sympathize, my truck is a work truck as well, and currently sitting at the dealership for an engine/accessory rattle that they can’t hear. I’ve been trying to get them to let me take a tech for a ride for the last two days to duplicate it for them.

Depending on how close to your warranty expiring either from age or mileage, any repairs done at the dealership will have a 2yr/12000 mile (or maybe it’s 20,000 miles, I can’t remember) warranty. So if one of the new lights goes out again you’ll be covered for a little bit longer after your bumper to bumper is expired.
