This is my 3rd Stop Safely Now message and in monitoring these boards it doesn’t seem like an answer is on the horizon. The first two happened within a month of each other and after almost 3 months of no issues I was starting to relax and thinking (hoping) some software update came thru and all is good. Nope. I’m currently waiting the requisite couple hours for it to get its act together. Ironically yesterday I was heading home from camping and stopped to dump my tanks. I seriously thought about letting the truck run the half hour it takes me at the dump station, otherwise it would've been a real sh*t show (pun intended) if I couldn’t move my rig out of the way while others line up behind me.

I think it may be time to cut my losses and get a vehicle I can rely on (who’da thunk a $65+k truck wouldn’t be reliable?) I’m a widow and it’s just me and my pup on our travel adventures so I absolutely cannot be stranded for unknown periods of time. It’s been challenging enough to learn how to maintain and repair my trailer, I shouldn’t have to worry about my tow vehicle too.

What say you fellow campers? Give me a pep talk on why I should hang in there (I do love that onboard generator!) or advice on how you handle the keeping the dreaded SSN message out of your head anytime you get in the truck, especially when you’re camping.

Some of these trucks have some kind of flaw buried inside that makes them effectively lemons. I would have assumed that the diagnostic features would be GREAT at pinpointing electronic malfunctions, but ironically these seem to be nearly impossible to fix when present. As the flaws are almost certainly electronic, the solution is almost certainly to rip out and replace the electrical system until/unless Ford and dealers get better at isolating and fixing these gremlins. The folks who don't have the issues seem to be immune while the folks whose trucks do have them seem to never get rid of them.

I think that the demand needs to be "fix it for good or buy it back."
