Overall impression: I love it. Amazing truck. Absolutely love it. So many good things to say about it so far and has an unbelievable the amount of power and technology. It's one thing to see all the tech on paper and another to have it all at your fingertips in use. No issues yet after ~200mi and ~20 trips.Hey, just a humble request...
If you've gotten your truck and have the time, it would be great to know first impressions? Hearing real-world reactions to This Expensive Thing we're all getting would be a great way to help ease the waiting for those of us still sans F150.
There is a speaker up front on the lower left side playing the "airplane" sounds at low speeds for pedestrians. It makes the sound regardless of electric or normal driving. I feel like I get lots of looks from people wondering why that truck sounds like an airplane...LOLQuestion: Does the PB produce auxiliary audible drive sound when driving at low speeds and only on electric? The best I can describe it is if you've ever flown in an MD-80; the droning sound of those particular jet engines. I clearly hear the beep in reverse. If it's not intentional, wondering if there's something touching up against a spinning motor. It's not annoying but could be in the future over time.
Jloyd, thanks. I thought that was maybe the case. It's just such an odd sound for the truck. Wonder how the engineers landed on that pitch/tone adjustment. Perhaps there's some kind of science behind human pitch range and detection? I'm fine with it, personally, just odd. It seems to get lost in the mix of road/engine noise above ~15mph.There is a speaker up front on the lower left side playing the "airplane" sounds at low speeds for pedestrians. Yes, I agree. Will have to go back and check, but I thinking the ventilated seats are actually louder than the dash fans when the seat fans are on high.Has anyone else noticed that the fans for the ventilated seats are REALLY loud on the high setting? Especially on the passenger side? If I bump it down one notch it's not really objectionable but "high" wears on my eardrums a bit too much.
Agreed on the door fit and seal. The rear doors require more umph than the front passenger doors. Though, they feel solid. And it's such a quiet cabin. Here you go:
This truck is AWESOME! So much more refined than my 2011 was. It's smarter than a 10 year old too. The powerboost engine setup is brilliant, I'm not seeing any of the transmission roughness that others reported earlier. I'm still sorting through all the options and configurations but it tickles my tech funnybone. I like the changes to the exterior glass - front and back windows are more surface mounted (instead of framed in) if that makes any sense and it looks a lot cleaner. The weather seals on the doors are TIGHT - you have to close the doors with authority or they won't latch properly. The truck was clean as a whistle on arrival, no undercarriage rust or any other signs it spent time in purgatory. All in all, we're very very happy with it.
Glad this worked out for you. I checked today with the GM to try and do the same thing and no dice. The truck has to be on the lot to start the financing.Update for my Lariat Powerboost..
Truck in transit but not showing in Palsapp. ETA sits at 10/8 to 10/14. Called my salesman and he said come on in and get the paperwork completed to lock in 0% and my PCO, no issue.
Ill head in this afternoon and see how that goes.
