Hey, just a humble request...

If you've gotten your truck and have the time, it would be great to know first impressions? Hearing real-world reactions to This Expensive Thing we're all getting would be a great way to help ease the waiting for those of us still sans F150.

Congrats @Littlefield82.....If I'm not mistaken I believe you are the father of this build week. Glad to see you're moving again.

Hey, just a humble request...

My report after 695 miles is: I love this thing! I’ve been nothing but impressed. The amount of tech in this 302a XLT, over the same model of the previous generation, is quite mind blowing. The 10 speed transmission seems to be more refined, especially at low speeds in town. All in all, it just feels better than my previous 2020.

The Powerboost hybrid system has been mostly seamless, and feels like it continues to improve with learning as miles accumulate. Brakes take some getting used to, especially in full electric driving. The pedal requires a considerable amount of force when applying them. Also, I think it is capable of achieving the 24 MPG…if you have the patience. Per the Trip 1 computer, I’m right at 22 MPG, since I’ve taken ownership. That includes the 340 mile trip home from the dealership with the cruise set at 76-78. I would have to think it could even improve once fully broken in. I haven't gotten into it real hard yet to fully “test it out”, but can tell that a ton of power and torque is there just begging to be called upon.

The factory spray in bedliner looks great. I’ve read about it not being the best quality, but looks as good as the Line-X liners I’ve had in the past.

The base B&O system is decent, but nothing special, IMO.

The reflector LED headlights are outstanding. Every bit as good, and probably even better than the aftermarket projector setup I had installed on my ‘20.

I haven’t hooked up my 7500 lbs (dry weight) travel traileret, but hoping to do that soon. I’ll be curious to see if there’s much difference going from the 157” wheelbase to the 145” in towing applications.

The only real annoyance is the chatter of the door seals. I’m going to have to address that one for sure. Also, the noise emitted from the pedestrian speaker at low speeds is a bit annoying as well. It sounds like a small airplane coming in for a landing at low speeds around town, whether in full electric or not.

My glossy black door appliqués are ridiculously scratched up, and I have some light swirls and imperfections in the clear coat. Most likely a combination of being exposed to the elements all summer, and being wiped down when dirty at some point…grrr! I somehow missed these things when I took delivery from the dealership 6 hours away from home, but they have assured me that they will take “care of me “. Still waiting for that situation to be fully resolved, and certainly I’m withholding my ever important survey and dealership experience rating until it is.

I’m sure I’m leaving things out, but trying not to type out a full essay, LOL. I commend you if you’ve followed along this far! Feel free to ask for any other specifics. I’m always happy to talk Ford trucks. ?

Just talked to my sales guy. My truck is/was in a rail yard in Buffalo, so it won't be long!

He said I can can do my credit app and hopefully lock in the 0% that expires 10/4 at this point because they have the paperwork from Ford they need. A little unsure about where that leaves me if there's a problem with the truck that I'd want to walk away from though.

Oh yeah? Well I just talked to MY sales guy, and HE said 'Your truck is in production, just like the last two months. You'll get it when you get it, so be SILENT, peasant!' :p
How very insensitive of me ;)

I suspect one of the Fords themselves will be delivering your truck directly to your door and say, "Hey, sorry about the wait. It's on the house".

I feel for you. I really do. We have the same build date. I just don't understand it.

I have noticed that some of you all had build days later in the week than me, and those trucks have shipped already. I expect i will be the lone ranger before its over.

While the way my luck usually goes means I'll be last, my own private predictions two weeks ago (When there were 17 of us on hold but we were starting to see movement) was that they'd do about half of us that week, and they did 10. Before last weekend, when seven of us were still on hold, I guessed that over the weekend (when they seem to update) they'd get four more of us, and they did. Now my feeling (based on nothing more than a hunch) is that we'll sit static until THIS weekend, when two of the three of us still in Limbo will get word that we're built.

Sadly, my hunch is also that Josh35 will be the last man standing, just because his order has to go to Canada. I'd rather be last so that I don't feel bad leaving others behind!

That's a nice thought! At this point, I'd take the lowliest Ford janitor calling me collect and saying "If you're willing to pay full retail, you're truck's ready. Oh, and you gotta come to Dearborn to pick it up. And you gotta buy me a case of beer." I'd take that deal!

Well, my truck is still "In Transit". I never actually went to "built" status, so I don't know where I am at.

I called my dealer again today, no new information from when it went to in transit on the 20th. Palsapp doesn't show anything either.

I am so fucking annoyed at the lack of communication from Ford. Even my dealer was bitching them out, saying he sympathizes with me, but he has been dealing with it for the last 18 months.

I have a guy willing to buy my current truck tomorrow, but now I am hesitant to sell it because I still don't know when the new truck arrives, and I can't be without the truck that long.

Website updated this afternoon saying it was delivered so I contacted the dealer to see if was true or was I being punked by the Ford delivery system computers. Well it was true it’s on the ground at the dealership, hopefully they will get it through PDI and ready for me tomorrow…Fingers crossed.
