More good news almost all-around! CBaka27 and Motosapien take delivery and leave the list, joining the Ranks of the Annointed in GotTheTruck Land!

It's no longer someday for Someday, as he has a pickup date (today, we hope!) and Littlefield does too (tomorrow, he reports!)

Finally, it looks like one of our resident Canadians, Josh35, has FINALLY left Limbo with a truck that's built and awaiting shipment. Pixie and myself are the last residents of that grey and dismal land as we begin our 84 Days of Penance for having the temerity to order a truck with hard-to-find parts. The question is... WHICH parts? I didn't order any hood-mounted rocket launchers, did you, Pixie?

Was a shit show yesterday at the dealership. Wasted almost 2.5 hrs yesterday evening. Then the finance gal comes and tells me that my ssn is flagging fraud alert and not going through Ford credit system. Usually this is resolved with a phone call but since it's after hours they kicked me and family out at 830pm.

Trying my luck again today afternoon. Will keep you guys posted.

Truck looks nice BTW.

My paperwork is ready for me to sign and drive tomorrow from Chapman Ford. Flight is booked, truck is ready.
Please let us know how it goes. I purchased from Chapman as well and hope to fly out sometime this year if/when my truck is built to pick it up.

Will do. I did the Ford Credit application on my own through Ford's website and just gave the sales manager the confirmation number that was produced. Sent copies of my DL and proof of insurance as well. They sent me a breakdown of cost showing my down payment so there would be no surprises when I arrived. Everything matched what Tom Borah sent me when I placed the order. I was able to get 0 for 72 and the $1000 incentive through Ford.

So in trying to figure out why I'm in Superlimbo, I've got two leading possibilities...

1) Ford got 10,000 (or whatever) chip modules in the last batch, and my truck was #10,002 in line
2) My truck has a relatively atypical feature that requires a module that they don't have on-hand.

If it's #1, well, just that's my luck behaving as it usually does and I wait for the next batch.

If it's #2, well... I have 502a, but lots of folks with that have gotten trucks. I have the 7.2kw ProPower, but many with that have gotten their trucks. Same with Active 2.0 Prep and Tow Technology package. So here's my guess as to the potential culprit...

Power-Deployed Running Boards. I don't think many people get those... I wasn't even going to, they seemed kind of like a pointless frivolity. I just added them once I got X-Planned because I could then afford to add them AND having then seen them demo'd by my sales guy, I realized they were both wider and lower than fixed running boards when deployed, and it would make it easier for my dogs to get in the truck as well as my elderly parents. So I ordered them. But now I think maybe they're the thing that have me on semi-permanent hold while most others from 8/2 have now gotten trucks delivered.

Seem plausible? Pixie, did you get the power-deployed boards?

Nope I did not. I thought it was the 7.2 but like you said others have gotten that. I have 502a PB 7.2kw, tow tech, moonroof, 20”wheels, work surface…I heard rumor that was on back order a while back. Did you get the work surface?

Took delivery today. Put about 60 miles on it so far, getting exactly 24.0 MPG. Wasn't expecting that and a pleasant surprise. Drives and rides great.

Bed liner next week and I'll have my detail guy ceramic coat it. Then I'll post pictures.

Unfortunately it looks like the dealers detail guys aren't the best and I've got a fair amount of swirls visible in direct sunlight. As I mentioned yesterday, it was really dirty off the truck, and I think it wasn't washed well. The gloss black on the door pillars is especially swirled and they weren't yesterday. Not real happy about that, but if that's the work their prep guys do, I don't want them fixing the swirls. I'll let my regular guy do it.

I did get the work surface, though I'm sure others here must have, too? Man, wouldn't that be a kick in the head... this little $150 option that doesn't stop the truck from running holding it up. Hey Ford, you can send mine without it if you like!

But honestly, I doubt it's that. I called Dearborn on Wednesday and spoke to someone who made it pretty clear I was on 'Microchip Hold', and unless I'm missing my guess, there ain't no microchips in a fold-flat work surface ;)

One thing Dearborn DID say was that (as suspected) the 12/31 date is just a placeholder that stands for 'We don't know when it will be ready.' I don't know if that's discouraging or encouraging... I suppose it depends on your degree of optimism.

I’m going to take it as encouraging and will deliver by Thanksgiving ??
